877-842-2065- Call type: Debt collector
- not so stupid consumer| 12 repliesNationwide Mediation Firm is full of it. They are illegal debt collectors who think that they are above the law. Chelsey is supposedly the manager , and claims that they are exempt from debt collection laws because they are supposedly not a collection agency even though they are willing to voluntarily accept your payment. I called the original creditor and found out that they sold the debt to a company called Midwest Recovery, who is in the debt collection business. Nationwide called me with a fake process server and told me to call back to voluntarily resolve this matter. Little did they know that I am a retired FED, and have most incoming and outgoing calls recorded for my own protection. I usually do not hesitate to record instantly on unknown callers, and was able to catch 100% of this scam on tape. I forwarded my claim and tapes to the FTC and to my local attorney general, as well as informed the original debt holder of the illegal tactics. It is a federal crime to threaten people with court proceedings if they don't pay today. They are required be federal law to inform you that you have the right to dispute the debt, and they would not give me their address to dispute this debt. They told me instead that I could dispute this to the judge if I wanted to dispute this. They told me that I was facing criminal charges of breach of contract and attempting to defraud a financial institution. They threatened me with legal fees, and immediate service of papers to show up in court. Basically, I busted them, and now the ball is rolling to identify this group, and I will not stop contacting them by any means. They have just run into their worst nightmare. Good luck, and we will be seeing you dickwads in court. Seriously. You guys have no idea how bad you sound on tape. Just a thought, next time you call somebody, check who you are calling first just in case it turns out to be a retired FED!!! Dummys.

- darnit replies to deleted post| 1 replyHow long have u worked there?
- sure you are replies to deleted post| 2 repliesMisty, you are another sucker. You have not been served any papers, you are obviously one of them trying to make it look like we should settle up with them. They are junk debt buyers who will do anything including threatening you for legal action if you do not voluntarily resolve this matter. If they were mediation company, why wont they "mediate" by offering you a settlement, or sitting down with you, or inviting you into their offices. They do not represent any "original creditor". They have purchased your old defaulted loan, and in their contract, they are not allowed to represent that they are collecting for that company. They can tell you who the original debt is from, but do not collect money for them at all. They own the debt already. Call your old apartment complex and find out the truth about your old account. Don't just be a sucker. Nationwide is as bogus as a 7 dollar bill. Try to record them, and forward it to the attorney general, and the FTC, and your private attorney, and if they broke the collection practices act, they may be forever barred from collecting this debt, plus owe you up to 1000 in civil penalties for violating your rights.
- Chelsey| 5 repliesWe are a ligitimate mediation firm who tries to screw you out of your old debt by pretending to have a process server standing by to deliver papers that don't exist in hopes that you will be stupid enough to pay us a huge profit from which we will then turn around and support our drug habits or need for control. You suckers will pay, or we are telling. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah Wahh waaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
I am a legitimate junk debt collector who is exempt from collection laws cause we don't collect debts or call you, you call us, and we ask that you voluntarily pay us, we don't require payment like collection companies, therefore we are not bound by and statutes related to debt collecting practices. Just pay your money to us, and quit acting like you know the law better than us. I graduated from high school ya know, and I know the laws, you do not have permission to record me. Your recordings wont be allowed in court, because we are the ones in charge here. Pay us or you will see the judge. We do to have papers, how many times do I have to tell you that we are not a collection agency? We are a firm with a legal team. We are never going to be caught by the attorney general, or the FTC because they are stupid, and unable to get their act together before we move offices and change our phone numbers. Jerks.- Caller: Nationwide , just Nationwide

- Don't believe you replies to deleted postSure they did. What kind of papers? They can't sue you for a contract that had an arbitration agreement in it where both parties already agreed to settle their disputes outside of court. That is the first clue that you are full of caaaaacaaaaa. Pay day loans are unenforceable in court when defaulted. Installment loans are limited by the statute of limitations, and most junk debt buyers buy debts that are older than 4 years, or cases that lack a contract, or are barred by latches. They have never served anyone with papers, you liar.
- I paid them,| 2 repliesI paid them, and found out that they have hundreds of complaints with the better business beaureau. Unanswered complaints, and an F rating. I think I got scammed. They told me that if I did not voluntarily agree to pay 1000 dollars, that I was going to have the next phase take place which was to have the process server serve me court papers, but if I paid that they would put a stop order on this case. I was tired, so I believed them. When I paid, I checked into it a little, and found out that my old debt was 4.5 years old, and the old creditor told me that we had an arbitration agreement clause or something that we would not sue each other. They told me that I was lied to about being sued, and plus the limit of time was four years, to sue me anyway without an arbitration agreement. Man, I was sucker punched. I am trying to cancel my transaction with my bank, and the bank manager said that I can dispute this charge, but they have proof that I agreed to the charge somehow over the phone. I am upset that I fell for this scam. My mom is a school teacher and I should have known this was a scam, but I was home schooled, and this kind of thing was not heard of at my school. Now I can't afford my rent this month because I thought it was worser to go to court. Damn. I am stupid stupid stupid.

- Bobby replies to ChelseyRemember me? You stole 500 bucks from me you whoooore bag. Get a life, you loser.
- former collector replies to sure you areWhen I was called by a mediation firm by the name of World group they broke the FDCPA, and when I called them on it, they said they are not a collection agency, so they don't follow the collection laws. They were insistant on taking my money and said they would have a process server/ serve me the papers for court. I know the laws and I know I have no property to be sued for, plus if they get a judgment to garnesh wages- I don't earn that much money and I could fight it under the child endagerment laws. I am the sole provider for a toddler, any lawyer worth half their weight can argue this point. Mediation firms are third party collectors with no regards for the FDCPA.
- Marie replies to not so stupid consumerJust got a call from a Nationwide Mediation (called them back on the number given on answering machine). The call wasn't for me but they threatened charges against this person and legal matters. That is why I called their number as it sounded as though they were violating laws. Their number was855-835-3654. They claimed a locator of theirs made the call, would not provide their name. They refused an address and told me "to have fun trying" when I told them I was complaining to the FTC because I believe they are violating laws. Hope this number helps you.

- 207-510-1114 replies to ChelseyThe fact that you collect money from people owing debts proves you are a collection agency and must adhere to FTC laws. You have called relatives clear across country and then called me again this morning. You are an illegal organization and you will lose. Your legal team is no match for all of the people you have scammed coming together to stop you. Not to mention that God Himself is against your activities and will see to it that you are stopped in your tracks!
- (207)510-1114 replies to their a scam!Remember this number. I live in New England and their imp in my area uses this number and then on their last message, wanted me to call (855)835-3654. They have called family members clear across country giving them the same bs about charges and a claim. Their last message said they had verified an address and place of employment. HAH!!! Since I have no employer, they're out of their heads!!! The guy on the phone said "I'll see you soon." I think Christmas will come sooner than he will!!!! I want to see these scammers put behind bars or at the least put out of business.

So tell them [***] to kiss your ass next time they call their claims aren't worth the cheap ass plastic chairs they sit on at they're [***] cubicles making 8.50 then go home to the [***] projects thinkin they're doin something.
