- midijunkie| 4 repliesi think i figured out how they got ppls cell numbers as well as some partial bank card numbers...there was a breech at a major supplier for bank cards to numerous banks. i forget the name of the company that was breeched but the info that they would have gotten would have be things like cell number from ur bank app, acct #'s (mostly partial), possibly partial ssn, even joint acct info on ur spouse. funnier still if u chk out their web site it says that they have been liscened by ppsb for 6 years, but if u look at the info i posted before their site has only been around since 2007...hmmm can we say liars, n scammers. oh n here is still more info on them if u have been scammed by them and r seeking repayment for ur losses, http://who.is/whois-ip/69.49.96.27/ if i find out n/e more info i'll try to pass it on.
- midijunkie replies to DoopedDooped lying about ur lack of work was actually a good thing cause they wanted to know what kinda work u did so they could judge how much they could get u 4 b4 u could stop the transaction so by saying u where still n school that made u look like a weak mark with no monitary value so they dropped u for now but still have u as a possible future mark.
- wtfCAN SOMEONE PLEASE STOP THEM FROM SCAMMING!!!!. 44.94 of 20 installments for magazines and 1,000 gift card is a joke and the lady talks so fast for a reason.... If you get a call from this number tell them to burn in hell. Saying you can't cancel something is also bs if you haven't or don't want to receive there products. There was no where in the conversation that stated you can not terminate(with a fee or anything) so even their customer service is full of it. Glad I'm not paying them.
- RA replies to midijunkie| 3 repliesHey peeps,
I actually work for Reading America. I'd like to first say we do not practice scamming or fraud of any kind, I would rather be unemployed than be scamming people. Though, I admit I'm not happy with this job I have, being a tele-marketer, it just feels incredible to be employed. That's not the point though.
If we do get your CC info from you, or other info from you, and you decide to bail out and not go through with it, we dispose and destroy of this info immediately afterwards and even put the waste in locked containers.
All the hangups and nasty attitudes does happen unfouranetly, but is not really that common. Most people do not stay on board a long time and people come and go real quickly. If a person has a crappy personality and is giving people like you guys a lot of BS, he or she will eventually be found and terminated.
If you don't want the calls, you have to force yourself to pickup once and say, "could you put me on your do not call list?" Then that'll be your last call with us. We have to agree to do this, and I am happy to do this for people, and would politely do it.
I do get yelled at by pple on the phone sometimes, not too often, on the other hand it's cool in meeting people who just want to talk for a little, which is fine.
We sell magazines. An incentive to buy the magazines we use is a $1000 shopping spree. Nothing is free in this. We try to make this clear to many customers, but some squeeze this "free" word in it which is inaccurate.
We are legit though. We work directly with magazine companies like Times, Rolling Stone, etc... , it's just the "telemarketing" word that people associate with BS and scams. This is true sometimes, rarely, but not true with us. - NikkiLThis number calls me two sometimes three times a day - never leaves a message...

- Lesi replies to RAI wanted to know if I could shop anywhere like sears, macys, ebay, etc. online with the 1,000.00 shopping spree or will I have to just shop on 1 website? Please respond asap!
- Shawn RiopelleCalled my home today, when my son called and gave me the number I called it back and was hung up on 2 times.. I told the two different operators that they called my home, and I was calling them back, they said they called me by mistake, the first time the girl did not say what company she was with, the second time the guy said he was with Bank of America- I do not have accounts with Bank of America, so this peeked my interest, he asked my name, said it was not on the list, I repeated the phone number he called he said hold on one minute and hung up on me. I have all my numbers on the Do Not call list...
- edawgThey called me during class on Monday, telling me they were from Reading America and I'd won a 1,000$ shopping spree that I could spend on anything, and that it would be in the mail in 2-3 days. I didn't really understand the guy, as he was speaking fast, but he didn't mention anything about magazines, but after a few minutes of conversation (I got out of class ha.) he asked for my age and when I told him I was under 19, he said he'll call me back when I'm the legit age. But before hanging up, he asked me if I had any Credit Cards (What 14 year-old has Visa Credit Cards on them?) and when I replied no, he hung up. An hour later, A woman called back from a different number and I decided to play along and told her I was above age. However, when she asked for my CC and I told her I didn't have one, Click. Looked it up, and if you search this number on google, it comes up with their fraud site and the postcard system they use. I saw the 4 addresses listed for it, and one of them is a few blocks from me and I googled it and it was a hair/nail salon. So don't go to the Easton, Pa one cause it's non-existent.
- not happyI was going over my bank statement and this number was on my statement with a $45 charge, when I called to dispute the charges there was nobody there. I contacted my bank and had them put a hold on the card, the company called me to ask for my funds this month. When I disputed the charge the lady on the other end put up little no no fight and quickly hung up.

- DavidThey called me, but I didn't answer the phone! I don't go for those scams! How can you have won, if you never give the caller your number! They may have gooten it from someone who was selling telephone numbers!
David - TXDDYWell. I don't know anything about this or how they got my number. I didn't answer the fist time and they didn't leave a message. When I called back, they answered right away without ringing an they asked me if they had called me. I told them that I was returning their phone call. They aske me my age I told them 15 and they said I was too young so I said. Okay thank you and the call ended. I'm sure all you have to say is that your underage and don't know anything about the company. That's what I did. I don't think they will call again.

- cupcake22got a call last night and didn't answer it. they didn't leave a message either. now i'm glad i didn't answer.
one way to reduce the number of scammy calls you get it with the voicemail service you mail. www.youmail.com you can set it so that numbers like this can't leave messages and they can't call you blocked either. - Devin AlexanderI got a call from 1-877-855-1115. I answered and they told me that i won a $1000.00 shopping spree, but in order to get the shopping spree i would have to order a magazine subscription. They charged me $74.15 and i tried to cancel it they said i couldn't. The call was from Reading America.
