- Daddy| 2 repliesCaller ID comes up as "TOLL FREE CALL" but they did not leave message. On callback a message says "Thank you for calling Verizon Wireless" then a live operator comes on asking to verify your Verizon cellphone number. I have Verizon but this sounds like a scam or a third party vendor.
- Caller: TOLL FREE CALL

- Sandra Duarte| 1 replyGot a call from this number (877-861-1652) on my land line. They stated they were with Verizon and wanted me to verify my Verizon pass code. Not likely!! LOL I immediately called the number back there was a recorded message stating that the office was closed, but did not identify it as Verizon or anyone else for that matter! I called Verizon they stated there was no call to our home number.

- Caller: Who knows? They are not Verizon.
- Sandra Duarte replies to Pedro J Rodriguez| 2 repliesI got a call again from 877-861-1652.. Stated that they were Verizon with an off for me but that they needed my pass code to to make the offer. I called the number back they did indeed ID themselves as Verizon when they answered. They are NOT VERIZON. They are scaming to get your pass Code.. I dialed *611 from my cell and spoke with a real Verizon rep. They absolutely are not Verizon!! I reported them to Verizon they took the number and said there would be officials from Verizon checking them out. I wish there were someone else to report it to. This was my second call from them. I will call the Sheriff's office tomorrow to file a report! I suggest anyone getting these calls do the same.

- L Davis replies to Sandra DuarteI am getting calls from that number but do not answer calls that I do not know. There is just too many scams going on. I don't guess I can report it if I do not answer it.
- CaseyCalled the number back and found out they are calling "on behalf of Verizon Wireless" and want to review cell phone usage and current plan. They say that "sometimes a small change in which plan you're in can translate into money saved". When asked, we were told that they were not Verizon. We told them we weren't interested and to please not call again. The lady was polite and didn't try and get us to change our mind. I would imagine that if we had expressed interest in her offer that she would have asked for private information in order to access our account, but all we had to say was the name the callers had been asking for to get her to answer OUR questions.

- Carmen T| 3 repliesSent the information to Verizon's fraud department and got this email back:
"Carmen T******n
The Fraud department researched the following telephone numbers 877-335-6489 and 877-861-1652 and concluded that the numbers appear to be legitimate. The numbers belong to a telemarketing company called Infocision and have been in business since 1982. It's very likely they work with Verizon offering subscribers better rates on their phone service.
As a part of protocol for Verizon, if an account is shown to have a password applied to it, the representative must request that the password be verified to ascertain the identity of the individual called. This is policy for both inbound and outbound contact.
If you have any additional questions regarding your Verizon Wireless account, that department may be contacted at 800-922-0204.

So, bottom line it IS legitimate in the sense that Verizon knows about it but it is definitely NOT legitimate as far as being sensible or safe. Only idiots give out passwords and account information on calls they did not make. Stay safe!- Caller: Infocision

- Confused replies to Carmen TI just got off the phone with Verizon Fraud Department. They are not authorized to call any Verizon Wireless customer and are not authorized to ask for your password. 3rd there is a "law" that is patent, you can not use another company's name to do any telemarketing and say you are that company. The two numbers that they are call from is 877-335-6489 and 877-861-1652. I know someone will slip with trust and give them their personal information, this is what companies are striving for. Be careful and be careful who answers any question on here. They just might be that scammer trying to make things seem right.
- A212536I just called because I've been getting daily calls from this number. The first thing she asked was "verify your verizon name and account number" I said "I will not I'd just like for this number to stop calling me." She said "well what's your name?" I told her I don't even have a verizon account and I don't trust this number so it would be great if they just stop calling. I refused to give her my name. She was like "I'll let them know, thanks." Rude woman.
- mikerThey've called once every day for the last 6 days. I automatically block toll free area codes, but their persistence does indicate an agressive telemarketing campaign.

- ScottI just got a call from this number today. Thanks to this page, I was able to reject this call and spare myself the telemarketing blast. Just wanted to let others know that they are still calling people and claiming to work with/for Verizon.
- Caller: Infocision (Verizon)
- JanI got a call from 877.861-1652 on my cell. They did not leave a voicemail. What's concerning is I had just used my cell phone to pay my Verizon bill. Yikes! Coincidence? I think not. I'm reporting to Verizon.
