I work in the fraud department, when making outbound calls, we never ask for personal information, ex. password or ssn. If you call in then we have to verify you with the password or last 4 of the ssn. We do a lot of research when making outbound calls to customers so we are sure we are speaking with the true owner of the account. So in short- do not give out any personal information to anyone calling you.

They periodically call my number as well.  When they call they ask to speak to my husband who is the account holder.  I tell them they have the wrong number, but they keep calling.  I called the number back, they answered as Verizon wireless and they want me to verify my number and account passcode.  When I tell them I will not give it they suddenly can't hear me.  The lady started saying hello, hello, I can't hear you.   I just blocked the number on my phone.  They don't call my husbands phone at all! Interesting!

They called me today to see if I had any questions about my service. I always think it's a scam at first. But, this seemed legit. They had all my info. Told me how much data I had used for the month. When my billing cycle was over. What my account balance was. Etc. Then simply asked if I had any questions. I said no. They said Ok great thank you for being a Verizon wireless customer and have a good day. ....Seems ok.

Getting daily calls from 877-861-1652 around 1pm everyday for 4 days.  Answered once and they said they were from Verizon. Told them I was at work and they said they'd call back later that evening. They never called that evening, but called again the next day around 1pm.

Verizon calling about data being over and offering to switch it up before the billing period closes. Legit.

(877) 861-1652 calls my cell- leaving no message... everyday consistently now- at different times-finally I returned call to that number- female voice recording says,"Thank you for your interest in Verizon wireless, we recently noted an overage charge to your account- please hold for one of our account representatives."
immediately "live" foreign-sounding female voice on the phone- begins her conversation saying, " Thank you for your interest in Verizon, may I please have the mobile number you are calling from please?" I hang up- blocking caller!
I am tired of this!

That area code is from Russia, more specifically the Republic of Adygea.

This is a LEGITIMATE number for Verizon. I called Verizon customer service today and they verified it. It's just a sales pitch to sell your more data on your plan and to present some of their special offers.

NOT Verizon...... I called Verizon and this number is not associated with them....possible scam...

i work in Verizon landline fraud, we do ask for PIN's for landline accounts but for wireless if you're making the outbound call to the customer all you need is for them to verify their identity by name. So this is a scam, DO NOT GIVE OUT SENSITIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION.

Called twice repetitively and I did not answer.  No message left.

It's a scam-- they're trying to get your info to proxy into your phone. VERIZON knows of the scam-- if VERIZON calls you IT WILL NOT SHOW THE 800#. They have verified with me that if they call it wll show the actual phone number they are calling from.

Call from unknown number. Did not answer. Looked up number on Internet Cell Phone Numbers and regular phone numbers. Found that 877 area code had complaints

They have called me 4 times in the last 13 days. Caller addressed himself as Rasheed Hameed, saying I am elligible for an upgrade. Which I know isn't true cause they send you a text over an upgrade. I just got a new phone by the way!

Notify Don Not Call List; they will research it and find out who they are and fine them.

Tax fraud call back immediately on 1877 652 1652

received a call from 1-877-861-1652 again today on my cell, did not identify themselves nor leave a message. Tried to call back and received phone directory message that my request could not be accepted.
