- Lloyd| 4 repliesDo not recognize number. said it was from my bank and my card is blocked
for security purposes and gave this number to call - Davidsame as lloyd........ask for my card # and called cops to report
- anonsame as lloyd and david, cant get ahold at anyone at BOA as they say their customer service center is closed till tomorrow.
- Jose replies to LloydI aslo received a call with the same message that this was an alert from bankofamerica online banking and that for security puposes my card was temporarily blocked so I called the number and recieved a recording asking that I enter my card number , that seem stranged so I called the number on the back of my card and the associate that I spoke with told me that this was a scam used to get your credit card number, he aslo siad that you would not get a text you would get a call instead.
- Susan replies to LloydI just had the same thing happen, and of course, Bank of America does not have a 24-hour "live" customer service person to speak with. I can only assume this is a scam. Very scary, indeed.

- rhiiryst-mobile and same thing. text number it came from was 3889, wanted me to call 1 877 865 2709 and web address it gave was onlinebanking@alert.bankofamerica.com
- Misty| 2 repliesI got this text message, "onlinebanking@alert.bankofamerica.com / Bank of America Alert!. Contact us at 1-877-865-2709 for more information. Thank you. /"
I thought it sounded kind of fishy as I've fallen for a similar scam before but it was through email. In that case I called them and got things cleared up, but the Bank of America reps (I do bank with BoA) said they would never try to contact us via email or text message regarding personal or important information, if they need you that bad they will always personally call you and verify your information, who you are and etc.
I believe this is a scam as everyone suspects. I've gotten similar texts from different banks as well. I wonder if it is T-Mobile related as I have T-Mobile as well. - Randi| 1 replyI just got a text from 3771 saying, "onlinebanking@alert.bankofamerica.com / Bank of America Alert!.
