Same here. I also have TMo. I received a text message to my phone and my new cell number has never been given to BOA, nor has the email address.

Dude.. what an evil little scam. They almost had me fooled for a minute. I'm using the "I just woke up and was groggy" excuse. ;)

Received the text message as well.  Someone mentioned the number is based out of Oklahoma.. i live in oklahoma and am also a T-Mobile customer.. somewhere there is a security breach and I want to know if it is T-Mobile's fault, BoA's fault, or what.  Keep posting the good information.. I would love to have the opportunity to take these scammers down.  The number the text was sent from is 3862 ... whereas the phone number in the text is 1-877-865-2709.

I just got the same security alert that everyone else here has recv'd. It said my card was blocked and to call 877 865 2709..the bank listed was my bank, but the call back number was different from the number I have listed for them. I called my bank thinking something was up, and they checked my card and my husband's card and no blocks..can only assume it's a scam./ That and I don't even recall that my bank has my cell on file, that was my other clue. by the way, i have never, ever, evern recv'd a text from my bank in the 7+ yrs i have been banking with them, they always correspond thru mail. Can only assume this is a scam

I just got the exact same message asking me to call that number from 3518. The first thing I did was google this number and saw this site. I also have T-mobile. This makes me pissed off if it's T-mobile related.

T-Moblie Seattle area subscriber.  On 12-13-09, received scam SMS from 3881 about B of A blocked account. I don't have a B of A account.
I believe that the blocks of phone numbers assigned to cell phone carriers are public info. Of course its not public info who has the number. It may be that T-Mobile did not leak the numbers but they may be able to trace the SMSs to the sender.  Most likely that won't help much.

I just received a text message from 1-877-865-2709. I also have t-mobile and Bank of America, I checked my email that is linked with Bank of America and I didn't get an email from them so I figured this was a fraud. I typed the number on Google and this page was on of the first to pop up.

onlinebanking@alert.bankofamerica.com/ Sorry-- we've temporarily blocked your card for security purposes. Contact us at 1-877-865-2709. Thank You./

Much like everyone here, I am a t-mobile user.  But I don't bank with Bank of America.  THe text looked official enough that I thought maybe someone used my info to open up an acccount, but I was suspicious.  THanks for alerting me, I'll let all my t-mobile friends know.

Also a T-mobile user who just got the message.  Getting text messages from a four digit number like that means it came from an email address, which is why the address appears at the beginning like that.
