- anonymousYes, all these posts are accurate. They called me today and left a message. I called back and the company is Leading Edge Recovery Solutions. They said they were looking for a person whom I have never heard of. I told them I have had that phone number less than one year. They said they would remove my number and it might take up to 24 hours to remove it and that I might get some more calls from them. Apparently they are a rather agressive debt collection company that 'fishes' for people they can not locate.

- Cynthia| 1 replyThis number called my mother saying that they were the "Tustin Police Department" and call with an urgent message...I recognized the number as one of my blocked calls. They should be arrested for these tactics. My mother owes no debts. Why doesn't anyone stop this?

- Alfalfa replies to CynthiaHave you reported them? Nothing will be done about them if you don't turn them in for impersonating law enforcement, which is a violation of Federal law:
§ 807. False or misleading representations [15 USC 1692e]
A debt collector may not use any false, deceptive, or misleading representation or means in connection with the collection of any debt. Without limiting the general application of the foregoing, the following conduct is a violation of this section:
(1) The false representation or implication that the debt collector is vouched for, bonded by, or affiliated with the United States or any State, including the use of any badge, uniform, or facsimile thereof...

- e2edmMe too. Surely came from an online ad I placed recently. He's leaving messages on my unplugged MagicJack (haha) His messages don't even ring my phone (haha). I get the messages emailed to me. I guess he hasn't figured I don't ever answer that phone (haha) That's why I use that phone # for all my online ads.

- unhappymomI was spending a beautiful Saturday morning, with my son, and husband, watching tv, listening to the birds outside, enjoying the sunshine pouring in through the open windows, when the phone rings (9:52 am, to be exact). My son loves to pick up the phone so, when I saw it was a 1(800) number, I had to sternly tell him 'no, don't pick it up, it's not important.' Imagine if my son HAD picked up the phone, since it was a pre recorded message about debt collection! He's old enough to understand the serious tone/nature of such a call (if true, it would've been a real person, not a recording). He is NOT old enough, however, to differentiate, on his own, the fine line that scammers use between reality and fantasy. A debt collection agency - well, debt is everywhere - everyone has some kind of debt. For these idiots to use a prerecorded message, first, then not even specify as to what debt they are calling about, is a clear indication that they are running a scam. I won't bother calling them back. If they call me back, at all, I will, most certainly, give them an earful - how unBELIEVEably rude, obnoxious, and crass for them to call and ruin a Saturday morning! Incredibly unprofessional, if they are a real company. If they are, in fact, real, I will call the company that they are 'supposedly' collecting the debt for, and complain rather loudly to them, as well. How would they like repeated prerecorded phone calls on a Saturday morning?!

- e2edmI'm up to 27 messages emailed to me by my unplugged MagicJack (haha, my phone doesn't even ring.). All the messages are identical robo-calls, 0:23 long. I have saved them all (date and time-stamped by my online email service) in case someone finds a way to punish him.
By the text from 'Alfalfa' above, the message does not violate the laws quoted. The robo-call only says "Debt Collector" and "Leading Edge" and "Call". So I would guess harassment is all we'd have to claim.
It is so obvious from people's testimony above he is fishing (soliciting) for potential clients. Replying to an individual's call back with "Sorry, wrong number" is such a lame excuse. This is what the 'Do not call' list was supposed to cure.- Caller: Leading Edge Recovery Service

- Android User| 1 replyNot only do I have no reason for this to be happening but PAUL BLACK has gotten the cell phone numbers for 2 other members of my family. One being a 16year old. STOP CALLING! There is no reason for this. Its automated and never leaves a company name or phone number. I receive at least 3 calls a day.

- ticked replies to Android UserI need to ask, with all of these calls everyone is receiving, do you just get call with no messages or is a message left each time? By law there is only one message allowed a day and also depends on your state. State laws supercede certain FDCPA laws. As in Mass. No messages are allowed anymore. If you see 773 area codes calling, that's the chicago area code which means the collector is calling from a managers desk because you either didn't pick up or that their own computer tells them that they aren't allowed to call anymore at that time. Yes, they are sneaky and btw look into the TCPA as they aren't allowed to call cell phones unless they were provided at time of contract signing or you provided it to them. Hope this helps.

- HobblestoneOne of the MANY calls we get during any day of the week. We love this one. Our "Oriental" produced phone has an announcement feature. Call usually lights up in the I.D. screen as "800-Service" and our lady announces it as, call from eight zeelow zeelow service. We mimick and have ourselves a good laugh, IGNORE, and just keep on truckin'. The one we really get a kick out of is when the lady in the phone announces "call from Annie Ninnie muss" (Anonymous). Why did I bother listing with "Do Not Call"??
- Fed UpI am receiving the same calls, started about 2 weeks ago. Someone finally left a message....name Robert Wagner. They rattled through the company name and phone number so fast I couldn't even catch it. So annoying! I guarantee there are plenty of REAL collections/deadbeats they should be chasing instead of people who actually pay their bills!!! I have also been on the DO-NOT-Call list for years....wth?

- CarpathianReceived a call on my cell phone today, did not answer as I did not recognize the number. They left a message for someone, I could not understand the name, requested a call back and left a name and number to call. I googled the number and it states that they are a debt collection company. We have no reason for a debt collector to be calling and how did they get my cell phone number.

They say she purchaesd things ....Someone is using her SSN and this collection agency is not taking this serous. They even suggested me to make payment. I am using her phone because it has a good deal, but really become anoyed by the collection agency harrasment. I connected to my client ans she had reported the issue to American Embassy in where she is.. what else we should do?
