- Paulie replies to mariegI got a voice message from a 905 # saying they have mail for me, I did not give them the tracking # instead I told him I saw the # on my phone and is returning the call so I don't have a tracking #, he asked for my name I gave it to him because the person that left the message did not say my name correctly so he looked up my name and said he cant find it but someone will call me back.
I questioned him about if they are a postal outlet if they how come I did not get a notice about this mail, he just said someone will call me back..hahaha, they got me once before they wont be that lucky twice - AngrySame thing as everyone else but they asked for my dad and left a tracking number. My father passed away 7 years ago!!!!
- whattodoSo same thing happened to me, except my elderly father called back and verified our home phone with them...any ideas of what can go wrong now? What are they going to do with my home phone? Shouldn't they already have that if they are calling my house?
Any help would be appreciated - cell callgoogled it first before answering it..sounds like attempted fraud.
- Someone from TorontoI answered a call from 905-855-2261. A guy said it was a Collection Agency and that I had a debt with Rogers.
He then asked my Rogers account name. :-)
Well, I said he was the one that should tell me that number instead. He got upset, started talking very fast, saying he had my SIN.
I just hung up on him, but he called me again many times. Actually, they are calling me everyday since then (almost a week), but I never answer.
I called Rogers and the attendant told me my account is ok and I should never give my personal information to anyone.

- Ottawa| 2 repliesGot a voicemail message for my husband from "Roland" saying they had a "priority one mail" at their office and to call them back with the tracking number provided. They called twice today and left the same message TWICE. I googled the number to try to see if I could get the name of whatever "company" this was and found the number posted on this site instead. If they really had mail, why wouldn't they leave a slip at my door like any other postal/courier service? The funny thing is the phone number is listed under my first name and my husband's last name. How they got his name and our phone number is strange to me. Someone's providing whomever this is with information about people and they're trying to get more.
- AnnoyedThey are Contact Resources a collection agency. They are relentless. This time they said the same thing, they were calling regarding Priority Mail and gave a bogus tracking number. By law collection agencies have to stop contacting you by phone if you write or fax them a letter saying, remove me from your contact list and only contact me by mail I have sent them 4 letters requesting this and now have filed 2 complaints with Consumer Protection of BC and they are now taking care of it for me. The police can not do anything, your best option is to contact Consumer Protection at http://www.consumerprotectionbc.ca/index.php/ ... esponsibilities or Consumer Protection for your area if you are not in BC

- GeraldThey called my cell number asking for someone and when I asked them why they called my number they told me that it was given to them as a contact number, and asked if she was there. I don't give any information if they don't identify themselves. They gave me an address for the person which I thought was a bit much, and when I called them back and asked them to remove me form thier listing they denied calling me, and told me they were a debt purchasing company. Considering they gave me a tracking number I have access to someones financial information.

- Peter B.| 1 replyI've got a question regarding phone calls I am receiving from CRS INC (Contact Resources) a collection agency from Ontario. I am in Victoria, British Columbia. I used to have a MasterCard with a balance of about 1000 dollars that I could not pay about two years ago for a number of reasons. I lost my job, etc. I contacted the bank (CIBC) myself and offered them to start paying as soon as I got a new job. It took a while and my account was eventually transfered to CRS. I sent the a check for 200 dollars as an advance back in September last year and offered to send postdated cheques when I got a new job. I eventually did and I sent them 8 postdated cheques, each for 100 dollars. I wrote them a letter telling them that I could not pay anymore than that a month and asked them to stop calling and leaving me messages sometimes twice a day. The point is that they have been cashing these cheques every month but they keep calling me. They are calling me from Ontario and other number apparently from BC. They are leaving me messages threatening with legal action if my account is not paid in full. They say they are acting on behalf of the CIBC and that they have their authorization to start legal action against me. I have paid them 600 dollars out of 1000 so far and the balance is 400. I would really like to know if this people can actually take me to court to collect the outstanding 400 dollars in spite of having been cashing the post dated cheques I gave them, every month. Please help me, I am losing sleep over this

- jillskiToday I had a call on my voice message from 'Phil' at saying they mail for someone unknown to me but with the same surname. I thought it odd, but called back after hours to tell them they had the wrong number/person. The voice mail asked to leave the number I was calling from (which I foolishly did) and the tracking number beginning with a "T". The tracking number left didn't start with a T (it was all numbers) but I left it anyway. Wish I'd checked here first. I think I left my name too; bummer. Anyone hear of any follow up? What do they do next?

- Mike| 1 replyI keep getting calls from caller-id # 902-448-8588, I don't answer and they don't leave a message. I checked out the number online and some people say they get messages telling them to call back at 877-881-8088, so I tried calling back, and it's a recorded message saying I've reached a message centre and to have my tracking number ready, what tracking number?? they've never left a message, so I just hung up. I don't have bad credit, as a matter of fact I've been recently approved (about 6 months ago) for a large line of credit, should I be worried someone has stolen my identity between then and now and messed up my credit?
