I just got another call from 877-894-0084, the 4th day in a row. Time of the call about 10:15 AM. As usual I did not answer the phone, but about 30 minutes later decided to call. The message is that the box is full and to call back later!

If it is from someone hired by the Ottawa Citizen, the Citizen can forget about us!

About one-and-a-half years ago I received a lot of unwanted solicitations from the Globe and Mail and kept on telling them NO.  But the person at the other end of the line "George" doesn't like my attitude and phones back using his computer to block his phone number and threatens to f**k my wife.  He wouldn't hang up, nor could I hang up on him, because every time I picked up the receiver, he would be there.  I did pin-point "George" because that was the name he called with when he tried to sell the subscription with the Globe and Mail.  He had a Mexican accent.

Received call in Ottawa at 11.25am, Saturday March 24.  Caller was from a company that was calling on behalf of the Ottawa Citizen.

We have received 14 calls from this number since March 14, 2012.
We have call display & do not answer it. No message is left.  We are on
"do not call list"  Plenty annoying.

No big deal.  Call regarding recent cable upgrade with my provider just making sure we didn't get missed in the installation.

DNC does not apply since they called for my cable provider.

These losers called 3 times in one hour today! It eats up my cell time but if I have spare, I "answer" the call but don't say anything. When they say "hello?" I hang up.

These spammers called my cell 4 times this morning in 1 hour. This is ridiculous. Lucky for them I've blocked their #. Idiots!

I live in Calgary Alberta and Do Not want to be bothered by these annoying calls anymore. They are from Ontario and have no business calling me.

how do I stop these and others like this from calling?

keep calling 3 or 4 times a day for the last couple of weeks. They will not leave a message and I do not answer

well the DNCL is great in concept but you will still receive these annoying calls even months after being on the list as not everyone is following it.

try contacting the ottawa citizen to be removed from their database

Messaged them quite nastily via their "contact us" page.  Thanks to everyone for posting how to get in touch with them to try to stop this insanity.

just block them, most phone companies have a service that allow you to block certain numbers..   do this with ones like these who are calling you over and over.  
nothing else works.

Apparently this is a newspaper telemarketer who phones 6 or more times a day.  I am on a Do Not Call list and am still being pestered.

By emailing the company you have now provided them with a new source to send thier ads an commerical solicting to - also you will be confirming youre phone  which they add to a data base with the email you have provided which in turn is sold to other companies best not give companies a way to spam youre email inbox.

I like all of you hate those annoying C@&#&#(s who waste our time and invade our family time.  Well I bought a panasonic cordless phone set (6.0 DECT) and it has a call block feature:-)  I've tried blocking my cell # to see what happens.  It will ring only once on your end and then cut them off with a nice dial tone:-)  I've blocked probably about 10-15 annoying telemarketers:-)  and I'm still going.  So if you do decide to buy these panasonic phones just check the box to make sure it has CALL BLOCK on it.  It's helped stop most of these annoying parasites from calling back:-)  Hope this helps.

This is the smartest answer I've read yet, you're dead on I work there I'm a 19yr old sponsoring a child trying to pay my bills etc. I'm just like any other person who hates telemarketing. But Yes if you're rude some of us will put your number in the breakoff catagory and call back in hopes of another person answering. If you're nice to us then we will put you on the DNC list.And yes we are exempt from the NDNC list.

I have been on the DNC list for years, this hasn't stopped a damn thing, it's probably a place to gather our info TO SELL it to these jokers and make money.  I'm getting ready to change my number and NOT PUT IT ON THE DNC LIST.

Fairly sure it's the Globe & Mail.
