I received a call from this number--Unknown Name--which I did not answer.  It is obviously a phoney.  I, for one, am getting fed up with the nuisance calls that seem to be proliferating at an alarming rate.  Can't the FCC do something?  Or are they as inept as the rest of our federal government these days?

I've been getting several of these every week.  A couple of times I've answered and the person on the other end has asked for me by name.  I've never acknowledged my identity to them.  They represent themselves as calling on behalf of Wells Fargo.  

Certain VOIP providers allow individual number blocking.  Don't know if landline carriers offer that.  I think they are required to block harassing numbers if you report them.

I, too, have been receiving these phone calls, usually 1-3 times a day, 3 days a week.  I have tried reporting them - but because I can't identify who it is that is calling, I can't register a complaint on the DNC list.

I received eight calls in one day from 888-123-4567 - just a typical day. They call often enough that they have woken my newborn several times. I am so fed up with whatever/whoever is doing this. I am also on the "do not call" registry and I feel I receive few product calls except from this number.

I recieved 4 calls last night all within a 1/2 an hour from this number and decided to google it this morning so I could find out who it is and give them a piece of my mind - tried to call back but call could not be completed

This number calls us every night asking for my husband. Saying they are W/Wells Fargo. Last night the 3rd call of the night... he finally answered said hello 4x finally they hung up on him.... It's getting very frustrating!

I get a call from 888-123-4567 about 4-5 times a day. I was able to answer it once and it was a recorded voice telling me that this was a telemarketing call and then it hung up.  I wonder if this is happening all over the country. I'm in Atlanta.   I noticed quite a few people mentioned Wells Fargo in reference to this call. They are our mortgage holder.  Is there a link?

Same here.  I get several calls a day and they always hang up when I say hello.  My mortgage is with Wells Fargo as well.

No message left or hang up.  My roomie says they are asking for me and did not want to leave a callback number.

I've been getting calls from that same number. Like 10+ times a day.  My mom actually picked up the phone once they asked for some common information.  Another time they asked who was home and what kind of security system I'm running.  Worse one was offering me porn.  Here's my most ridiculous one. They called my neighbors telling them to go to my house and say some guy wants us to call him back. We don't even know him.
Today thus far I've been counting if its not an unknown/private number its 1-888-123-4567 that number popped up 6 times thus far from this post.

Constantly with these guys...but now after reading all these posts and what it's about, I believe it's time to answer the phone and have a little fun with these guys with the help from one of the movie soundboards on the computer

(888) 123-4567 has called me 5 times already today. I answered once, and they asked for Mark then my last name. I hung up as soon as they asked the name. I'm assuming they've mistaken Mary for Mark. This is extremely frustrating. My mortgage is also with WF.

I have received 8 calls from this number, no one is ever on the line and trying to call it back is useless.  It comes up as 800 Service and the number is 1-888-123-4567.

THE PHONE COMPANY NEEDS TO ALLOW CUSTOMERS TO BLOCK CALLS FROM UNWANTED PARTIES & SPECIFIC NUMBERS!  WE PAY THEM - THEY SHOULD SERVE US!

I also have a mortgage through Wells Fargo.  After reading these posts, it sounds like Wells Fargo has given out their customer list with private information.  I receive 4 to 5 calls a day from this number since May and I live in Michigan.  So it's fair to assume that Wells Fargo customers all over the country are getting these annoying calls.

So, Wells Fargo sold our phone numbers to scammers?  Is that what's happened?  I've gotten over 10 calls from 888-123-4567 today alone.  :(

Glad I went Googling. This started about a week or so ago. When I saw 888-123-4567 I assumed it was a spoofed #, so I have never answered, but it is good to hear some feedback. I too am w/ Wells Fargo, so apparently someone has gotten a hold of Wells' customer list. Whether it was bought or stolen, it seems pretty obvious that this is a total scam. Thanks for the info.

FYI TO ALL - I got that call myself
BUT FYI...  I sell phone equipment and what these companies are doing is programing the outbound caller ID info to have this false number so if you have caller id it doesn't log them as blocked

Ok, then. I wonder if Wells Fargo Mortgage Company knows this is going on? Maybe we all need to start bombarding them w/ emails & calls?

 Glad I checked back into this website. I was reminded when I have already rec'd 5 calls in the past 5 hours. I have never answered it.

This is happening in Phoenix too...Wells Fargo has my mortgage too... these [***] call every hour starting at 6am on the weekends ... I finally called my phone company and put selective call blocking on my phone so I could block their number... I sure hope it works because I am tired of turning my phone off so I can sleep... I also filed a complaint on the do not call registry, but it looks like others have too and it's not taking care of the problem
