Have had several of these calls.  I don't have anything with GMAC or Wells Fargo, so don't know.

I just got another call., callin daily ,. and its a telemarketer for Citi mortgage

After ignoreing several calls, I answered.  The woman on the other side claimed to be calling for a company that I have a business relationship with.  I asked her to explain why, if she were representing that company, she was calling from a misrepresented number, she explained that she was with Global Service, representing the company.  I said that since the identity of her company was misrepresented, anything she told me was suspect.  I also told her that I suspected this to be a sales call and was not interested in doing business with them under any condition.  Then, I asked to be removed from their list.

We will see.

Received two phone calls w/i an hour.  Read the other reports.  Had a mortgage with Wells Fargo many years ago.  Somone has found some old info for sure.
I don't pick up unless I recognize the number

I've been receiving phone calls from them for the past few weeks. On Monday, 12/3/2007, I received 5 calls from them. Then the next day, I received two. Each time they've called, they don't leave a message. I haven't answered them since I don't recognize the number (Basically, if I don't recognize the number, I don't answer). Looking at this web site, I'm glad I haven't answered. If this caller is from Wells Fargo--like they claim--why would they call me? I have no account(s) with them.

I received a call tonight  from 888-123-4567at 8pm asking to talk to me, when I said this is her, they hung up!  Makes me wonder what they are up to?

I get this phone calls @ work all the time. So I have caller ID and I no longer answer b/c they dont answer when you take the call. So I figured by ignoring them might just annoy them and stop calling me. And when I call back the number is busy basically non-existing... THEY SUCK!!!!!

Call came in from 1-88-123-4567 asking for the owner of the company. I saw that the number was odd so I asked who was calling. A man very quickly said we will call back and hung up even though I asked several times who was calling.

They called earlier but when Reception said they were going to relay the call to a different department they hung up before I even answered.

They called and ask for me and then hung up.

I started getting calls from 888-123-4567, since I block the number 866-800-8013. I answer the call the first time. They said they were from Wells Fargo Bank. Want to give me $50.00 for just looking at there insurance.  I told them only my first name. They wanted more imformation, but I just hung up, after telling them to mail out paper work. I think they are working togather, using differ phone number. Block their calls if you can.

Oh yeah, the Dems fixed it; it was so much better then.  What a typical liberal moron, do you know how much my calls have dropped off.  From 8 a day to less than 8 a month.  

Like or dislike him, give him credit for the do not call list and trying to fix social security, which we all know is doomed.  

Back to this, mine turned out to be from wells fargo.  Amazing, a decent company reporting to this sort of crap.  I filed a complaint with the do not call list.

That does seem to work, each time I do that, I don't get a call again from the same company.  It's like whack a mole, you just have to keep a whacking.  Just like terrorists, well, exactly like it:)

Got this call. They did not leave a message. Whoever it is calls at least 5 times a week. Called it back and got the message--We're sorry you have reached a number that is no longer in service....

I have been receiving a number of calls from the 1-88-123-4567 number.  Sometimes they just hang up when I answer.  Today, they identified themselves as Wells Fargo and asked for me.  When I indicated that I was the identified party they stated that I would receive a $15 gas card and an offer to buy an insurance policy. They asked for my BD. When I indicated that if they were WF they should have that information, they continued to argue that I would need to provide it in order to get this offer.  I told them to keep the card and hung up.

Received a call from this number.  They asked for individual living at this residence, including middle initial.  When I told the caller that the individual wasn't available and asked if I could help him, he hung up the phone.  This is the first call we have received from this 'bogus' number.

Rec'd call from this number, when answered they asked for me or my wife by name but it was mispronounced. My wife figured it was a sales call and hung up.

Its a shame that there are so many loopholes in the do not call list
It looks like a lot of the mysterious calls are related to Wells Fargo
Call them up and have your name completely removed from their list
COMPLAIN BITTERLY> The lame part is it takes several weeks to remove
your name from these annoying callers. Maybe someday some attourney will take up the fight and take a legal action on these bogus Domestic calls
that dont fall under the do not call list.

This message is for anyone who doesnt know what to do when receiving these misrepresented calls.

DO get Names and legitmate phone numbers.  At least a company name.

DO record the date and time.

DO tell the caller to remove you from their call list. Even if you have a business relationship with the company, they must comply within 30days.

DO NOT just yell at them to stop calling and hang up, its useless.

DO NOT take any excuse or No for an answer. Even NON Profits have to take you off the list if you ask them too.

DO complain to the FCC. http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints.html .  I have received a reply back on every company I complained about.

DO follow up or appeal that complaint with the FCC.  The FCC may tell you that the company is exempt for one reason or another, but they are still violating the law by; using a fake number in their Caller ID; By not having a human or recording answer the phone with in 4 seconds of you answering; Claiming to be a survey company to establish a relationship that will allow their "Partner" companies to call and sell you stuff;.  War dialing and "Dead Air" calls are illegal whether you are an exempt company or not. The follow up/appeal is a necessary step to enforce that action, otherwise the "exempt" claim is withheld and they get away with the abuse.

DO complain to the parent company that hired the telemarketer.  It may not go far but you may feel better.  See the FCC paragraph above.

DO complain to DONOTCALL.GOV,  not nearly as powerfull as FCC.GOV, but every little bit helps.

DO cut and paste these instructions anywhere someone will listen or other "who called me" type web sites.
