- anonymous replies to FurSure| 7 repliesSCAMMERS rely on anonymous SHILL posts like yours https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shill to convince their potential victims that this number is Discover card (and it is NOT).
- consumer replies to anonymous| 6 repliesyeah noone can fool you huh??!!
whatever use this site for prodictive things not to waste yours and out time...it really is discover calling
BELIVE it OR NOT.
anoyhow for everyone else when these card companies call you 15 times a day the best thing to do is just save them in your phone under collections and set that ring tone to silent or block..if you dont have that feature many phone companies allow you to keep a running list of about ten numbers you can block...they just go straight to the machine...they never leave any message anyhow....when you can or if you do catch up they will stop calling...until then dont let them stress you out and send em to the machine...the way i see it is if its that important they can and will leave a message but seems they never do.
on the upside i did talk to them(not when the 888 number called me from india or wherevever but rather i called and got a girl here in the states that had no indian aCCENT and was great ..you just needto talk to them or send them an email from your log in online) and they waived the three months of late fees(yes i bailed on my monthly payments for 3 months) and allowwd me to make my next 2 payments on time and at the usual amount and or discounted if i needed for the next 2 months and my account will stay iin good standing ..
.them giving me the credit for late fees and not trying to force me like the other cards to to make the payments i missed really was the only reason i didnt just default on the card since i didnt work for 4 months.
BELIVE IT OR NOT
......NOT that there arent scammers out there doing what this anonomyos is saying but in this case hes wrong...if you just ignore these calls and se tht einger to silent for them you will not stress so much and you also wont have to worry if its a scam or not - jeff| 4 repliesyes this is true mr consumer I have all my card companies collections phone numbers saved in my phone as soon as I know who it is, usually from this site I figure it out. They call me all day long but I never hear the phone rining best thing ever!! As soon as you are late they start calling 20 million times a day how very anoying. Alot of the companies have many many many differnet numbers they use to call you with hope you will pickup.Sometimes they call with numbers showing your local area code to get you to answer.
It is called spoofing when they call from one number but another one displays, that is illegal but they all still do it!- Caller: Discover Card Collections
- Call type: Debt collector
- anonymous replies to consumer| 5 repliesNothing in your long post proves this number is Discover card. The missing Indian accent is typical and expected for this type of scam. When SCAMMERS discover (pun intended) their scheme's been rumbled, they rachet down their spiel and try to weave good advice ("ignore these calls and se tht einger to silent") into their SHILL stories to "prove" this number is Discover card (and it is NOT). And why would you, who advises potential victims to "ignore these calls and se tht einger to silent", have any problem with my posts where I advise similarly -- "DON'T answer or give away any info. NEVER call 888-200-0810 back"? Why would you even care? SCAMMERS would care because my posts may cripple their SCAM, but why would you?
- anonymous replies to jeff| 3 repliesNo way can you "figure it out" that this is a "card companies collections phone number" "usually from this site". 800notes is an anonymous public forum where posters' credentials and stories aren't checked before they are allowed to post. jeff may be Condy Rice pretending to be "jeff". consumer may be Sarah Palin pretending to be "consumer". I may be Santa Claus pretending to be "anonymous". We are all LIARS on 800notes. There is no way you can figure out from this site this is Discover calling (and it is NOT).
jeff posted 9 mins after consumer did. jeff = consumer ??? - idiot| 1 replywhy do you waste your time checking this number every day just to belidile people?
it makes no difference who it is.... I recomended you save them in your phone and not to pick the call up anyway!
your the idiot for even answering any 800 number when it calls you and yes we know people have shills and dont always tell the truth...its the internet dude!
stop wasting your time here and just move on already...neither myself or jeff said to pick up the call just to save them in your phne and set the ringer to silent so they wont stress you out by calling all day long.
so it reallty makes no difference whether its dsicover or not but at least this site and the internet will assist you not to be so stressed out.
irecomend you make an entry in your phone called collections and set the ringer to silent and save any collectors in there AND JUST MOVE ON ALREADY
my phne rings abour 20 times a day from varios card companies harrasing me and i have them all blocked so the phone doesnt even ring...and its so peaceful now the phone is npot rining anymore. you should do the same.- Caller: idiot
