scammers are getting more high tech and elaborate but still a scam . . no legitimate bank does this

Received call that fraudulent activity was detected on my account and to stay on the line or call the number....I do not have an M&T account.

Same thing. We don't have an M&T account. They called my cell number. No way to speak to a human being when you call the number back. Gotta be a scammer.

got the same call... scam!  Phone # not in service + no fraudulent activity on my account... now concerned that someone has my cell #.
Google search says it's Leith Honda... wonder if their records were hyjacked?

Called me and left a message about  a problem on my bank account called  Phone # not in service + no fraudulent activity on my account. so  now concerned how they  have  my cell #.

Just got a call from this number, same as everyone else. I don't have an M&T account.

Got same call 12 minutes ago.  I don't have an account with M&T.  How are they getting our cell phone numbers?

Looks like a lot of activity from this scam.  I also reveived a call stating: "...fraudulent activity on my M&T debit card, press 1 if you are the cardholder or stay on the line...".  Hung up, I don't have M&T

Fraudulent Fishing scam.  Received tc from number re fraud on an M and  T account. I do not have one.  Do not ever give out your card info on phone.

Same as above, I am not an M&T Bank customer nor do I hold any cards from them.

My experience is consistent with all the other comments..... do not have an account with them, ..... vm left requesting info, and they also noted that  I may hang received a text message associated with a credit - which I did. Going to notify the three credit bureaus as a protective measure -  suggest that everyone else who had received a call do the same!

Received a phone call about two hours ago same number and type of call. Definite scam and the bank I go with said they were alerting the authorities and l that can be responsible.  For reference I do not use m&t bank either.

Called me and asked me to press 1, after which they requested my 16-digit card number. I closed my account at M&T bank over a year ago, so (thankfully) I didn't have my card with me.

I got the call too, called my bank. They say this is a routine scam where the scammers just pick a bank name and hope the numbers they call are people with that use that bank. If you have M&T bank, call their customer service and report it so they can shut these people down. If you gave your account number, call and cancel ASAP.

(888) 203-3740    Left voice message claiming my debit card was compromised and was being put on hold.
Called the number, and a recorded message claiming to be M & T Bank,  asking for my debit card number,
I hung up.
I don't even have any cards with M & T BAnk

I did not pick up, but they left a voicemail that stated the M&T Bank fraud department placed a hold on my card/account (I do not have an M&T account), and that I should call the number back to verify.

I just received this automated call also about a M&T bank account. I don't have an account with them.
