- g7m| 4 repliesI got a call from Lisa a few weeks ago, when I asked to get more information, she transferred me to Russell, who was a real gem to say the least. He cursed me out, threatened to call the sheriff's department on me. etc. When my consulted called the 800 number back, Lisa transfered the call again to Russell and he got Nasty with my consultant. All we requested was proof that they were a legitimate business (gmail account as emails, ever changing phone numbers, and a website that has been under construction-according to them just recently) doesn't give me the impression that this is a legitimate company. Every piece of email correspondence or fax I have received has LLC or Inc attached to it. When I told them I wanted to call the original creditor, they said "they wont talk to you anymore they sold this debt to us". I just don't know how to handle this. I dont even remember having this account!

- PLD replies to k9| 3 repliesI have no debt on credit cards. I wont mind spending 5 or 10 grand to expose these b!@#$%ds. Somebody said earlier these dirtbags are responding to this web site.
- k9 replies to PLDi beleave that to be true when i made my comments thur and fri someone
calling themselves "mt" resonded back did not like what i had to say.
i beleave "mt" maybe michael taylor the same person i was taking about.
i guess the truth hurts maybe if they were more civil about the matter
maybe i would not had said what i said. but calling my wife a bit$@ and
a scumbag crossed the line. i wonder how he would like it if someone had
said that to his wife. the debt they say i owe was from 1997 with me and my ex-wife 11 years ago. i filed bankruptey in late 1997 and all my credit card were added to my banruptey. i did not open any credit card account until after 2000 i have not made any late payments and my credit score is about 750. the bottom line is i am not usuly mean and hatful to other people. i just what to go on with my life and be left alone. but if push comes to shove i will not sit down and take it, i with push back - lol replies to PLD| 1 replyonce again someone wanting to charge up debt and not pay...lol.....waste your money if you want to
- k9's wifeWhat a debt collector CANNOT do:
Use deceptive practices. For example, threaten you with arrest or trick you into paying for collection calls.
Use obscene language.
Call you at work after you tell them that your boss does not approve these calls.
Deny you the right to receive a written notice (within five days after your first phone conversation) that would tell you how much you owe and the name of the creditor that says you owe the money. If you do not receive the notice within five days, call the collection agency and ask for its address and fax number. Then, send a letter to the collector noting its failure to send you the required notice. As a minimum, make a note in your file.
Refuse to give its name and the name of the collection company when asked.
Put a debt on your credit report if you file a dispute. It must validate the debt by obtaining a verification of the debt or a copy of a judgment from the creditor before continuing their collection efforts. The results of the investigation must be mailed to you.

- JB replies to vikkie| 4 repliesDear Vikki,
If this is a legal debt that you owe they have to report to the credit reporting agencies by law. Make sure they give you some type of paperwork that states they will close the account for a certain dollar amount and they will report it as either paid in full or settled in full on the credit report. If you have any questions just write me back and I will be glad to help you.
Joseph Beeler - Vikkie replies to JB| 3 repliesJoseph, thanks for you reply. i accually recieved a document that states "Upon successful completion of your paymet, the above account will be considered settled in full and will be updated on all three major credit bureaus.
Should i believe them? - JB replies to Vikkie| 2 repliesIf the letter states that they will do it then you have written proof so if they were not to report it then you could actually sue the company for a LOT of MONEY. The only way that I would be worried is if they wouldn't give you any information but if you did receive the letter then you have physical evidence which will hold in a court of law.

PS Write me back if you have any other questions. - Vikkie replies to JB| 1 replyThanks.
- vikkie| 3 repliesBE VERY CAREFUL, they are not to be trusted. They tried to lie to me. We never had a debt.

- vjc| 2 repliesWe just got a call from this number, the message was from Moreno and Woods. The thing is, they were calling about my brother which had me concerned and thinking has was in trouble. He sent me an email telling me not to worry and linked me to this site. The disturbing part is, everyone in our family is getting these messages concerning my brother.
- Caller: Moreno & Woods
- JB replies to vjc| 1 replyTell your brother to make sure he knows what is going on. If it is a legitimate bill he owes then he better figure something out because they will take him to court. These places buy the rights to the account and then turn around and take people to court who won't pay. The problem that we run into as a customer is that we did sign a contract stating that we would pay back an account and the interest that accrued, so we are binded to that contract. No one reads the fine print and that is where it is all stated. If the bill shows on your credit report then you should pay it 9 times out of ten unless it is fraud of course. Learn from experience. I thought that these types of law offices were a joke but try and hide and see what happens when they just put a judgement or wage garnishment against you because you either didn't show up to court or they just looked at the contract you signed. So be careful and try to remember what you used and what you didn't. It is better to be safe than sorry
