thanks, I too received a call and they wanted info so I hung up and called Barclay and they said this number is not affiliated with them.

This was a legit call from Barkley Card Service.  They reminded me I did not activate my new card yet and they were correct, I hadn't yet.  Not a scam call!

SCAM phishing expedition

The actual number is to Barclay, but I am fairly certain that someone is spoofing.  I received calls within a minute on two consecutively numbered lines at work, and we do not have one line rollover.  No one here has a Barclay Card, but both calls urged us to enter our card info in order to get it unlocked.

I received a call from this number (888-232-0780) the day after I requested a credit increase from BarclayCard. In my case, this is NOT a scam... although some people may be getting a "spoofed" call from this number.

Not a fraud cAll.  Its the fraud dept of barclay bank checking to make sure it was me that applied for a  Jet Blue credit card.  I;m glad they called to verify before opening account.

You obviously don't know that scammers routinely spoof legitimate numbers, do you?

It's a SCAM. Got a call this morning telling me someone was trying to use my info to open a credit card account. Very sweet sounding woman who wanted to know if I had any questions. I just spoke with Barclay's credit card division (legit number is 866-383-5310) to see if that 888 phone is a legit Barclay's number. She investigated for quite a while, then told me it is NOT and it is being used in a SCAM.

Legitimate # for Barclays. I received a call today with an automated message reminding me to activate the new card (American Airlines MC) that I DID receive a few days ago.

Called from # 866-465-5977Left a voice mail for my son, "Hello this is Shanita from Barclays....please call back @ 888-232-0780

This is Barclay.  I made some changes online, person left a voice mail verifying they received the changes and if I had any specific questions to call the number on the back of my card.  No red flags in the voice mail they left for me.

This was a real call from Barclays about an increase I had requested earlier.
