Doesn't feel like a real Citibank number. Left vm claiming to be fraud prevention, but this is not the normal route Citibank sends us fraud alerts. Seems like a scam.

A VM was left from Citi's Fraud Early Warning. In the voicemail, the man said my full name and the exact card that had an issue. A call back # was left (855-375-7048) and he also said I could call the number on the back of my card. Since I just applied for the credit card, I did not have a physical card & legit phone number to refer to... so I pulled out a mailed letter I just received a day earlier from Citi regarding this new account. I called the number on there and there was indeed a hold on my card because they wanted to verify I was the one who opened the account. The Citi Rep cleared the hold. Mine's turned out to be legit. Like other said, be aware of who you talk to. If unsure, call the number on your card.

Poor connection of someone with even worse English. Specifically mentioned Citigroup Bank Costco. Funny I didn't get an email from them about this but I do get monthly statements. All scammers get latrine duty in Hell when they die.

Got a call from citi...apparently a client of theirs claimed we misrepresented our prices on line . Which we did not . She asked us to refund her money by card.  I told her service was rendered and we would not. Person on the phone did not in anyway sound professional. Feel this is a scam.

Maybe you should call Citibank yourself?  Especially since "Jennifer" posted here in 2007.

I received a letter with the Citi logo, a form to fill up to update my information, sign it. and return it in a postage paid envelope, I am glad that I checked the 888-248-4226 and find out that it was a scam.

Do not give this info! I was just majorly scammed by this Citibank number. Fraudulent charges were texted to me and when the “fraud department” called me from this number and kept me on the line, they were able to wipe out my account

This is a Citi Group number but spammers spoof the number. Received numerous calls that I did not answer. Then received a text with fraud alert charges. Responded N to text and immediately received another call. Answered this time and they said it was debit charges on my card (FYI I don’t bank with Citi and don’t have a card). They already had basic personal information (name, phone and address) and talked a good talk. Then he said the PIN number needs to be changed and to provide the old pin. Obviously don’t ever do that. I let the scammer know that I don’t have an account with citi....awkward silence and then he hung up.

888-248-4226 tried to get my PIN today after sending multiple text "alerts". Never disclose personal info over the phone (PIN, Social Security Number, etc.). Also, beware of any call that generates a sense of urgency or emergency. Dishonest people will use your distress and confusion to manipulate you. It's best to hang up and call your local branch and have them either close your account or place transactions on hold until you figure out what's going on.

They call frequently --  to lower my credit card interest rates.
I prank with them and given phone c.c. numbers. After awhile I get bored
and just them to f**k off.
