- Caller: citibank

- Caller: CITIBANK

- Caller: Citibank
- Carol Hutson| 1 replyAsk for SSN and Debt card number... this is a scam
- BewareThe number might be Citibank's but that doesn't mean the caller is! Phone #'s are spoofed too. These low life's are always reinventing themselves. Never Never give any information or call back a # they leave. ALWAYS CALL YOUR BANK DIRECTLY if your concerned!!!!! There's a new vulnerability linked to web sites were hackers can access your password from the institution your logging into, this might very well be a new lowlife scam that needs to get your acct # & SS # verbal passwords to access your acct's. Yah I just got the call but didn't answer let it go to V/M - Wrong name Wrong bank! Phishing

- RichardNew wrinkle...Received an email labeled as an e-fax which must be downloaded and opened.
The email had a fax # 888-248-4226. Searched the number and found this site.
My computer security warned against opening the "fax".- Caller: Unknown
- RedVette1| 2 repliesGot it as an email saying I had a fax that needed to be opened. I didn't of course
Scam, scam, scam - Hgehgheg Jhehejhje replies to RedVette1| 1 replyIt is a fraud number from Citi. When they become suspicious, they try to verify by calling you on the number known to them. I missed a call from them, called their help desk, and indeed there was something wrong with my account. But, as ppl suggested in this thread, be careful who you talk to.
- KristyTReceived Call...no voicemail. Call came in at 11:55 pm rarely answer 800#s wouldnt advisd answering this one based on previous comments and timing of call. Seems shady if not illegal. Never give out your ss number am a Citibank customer they never ask for ss# only last 4 digits if they have to look at your account prior to that its based on linked phone numbers and birthdate/address. They also never would call you at almost 12 am even if suspect fraud actitvity they only flag acct and stop charges from going through until you call them wondering why you cant proceed. Hope thats a bit helpful :) Stay aware and keep posting bc these odd calls are coming in on both land and cell phone lines. Vigilance is key. Also keep in mind the do not call block is available for cell phones now too esp since telemarketers can call you BUT has to be updated I believe every 5 years for all # types. https://www.donotcall.gov/
- Caller: Scammer
- TheoReceived call on Oct. 5, 2015 on my cellphone. Caller ID on screen said "CitiBank" I didn't answer, but I called back.
They asked me to enter my " 9 digit SS # " . Of course I didn't give it. Banks never ask you to give your entire SS on the phone. Also asked for account # of either Bank acc, or of credit card. Whatever info they can get from you they want it. I called citibank at the # on my card, and asked them about the Phone # that called me, That's NOT a CitiBank number..
Never give them any info.. They are scumbags trying to rip you off.- Caller: Faked CitiBank
- DaveI received a eFax with a .zip attachment from this number. I did not open. Went straight to 800notes and see that others received the same thing. Scammers.
- Call type: Fax
- Anthony Zweiner replies to JenniferARE YOU SURE?
According to my phone log, this number appeared to have called me. According to 800Notes, others who have received calls from this number have been asked for their Social Security numbers or bank account numbers... which I would never give out over the phone...
Also, a Google search on this number first pops up with "Get Human" to answer your questions about Citibank... but it's not an official Citibank website... so I've concluded this phone number 888-248-4226 is possibly a SCAM number. Be very cautious. - traberThis bozo's now blocked
- bcI can't believe this scammer called me 8:29PM and left a stupid message, whoever created this system they are fully responsible and wasting every innocent people's time and effort including me.
Why someone or government or organization do something about this.
I am so tired of them. - Peter TThis is a scam. It's not from official Citi bank. They pretend to be Citibank and get your info.
- EdCalled and left a message asking to call back the number on the back of the card, CITI bank card. After reviewing this web, did not call back!
- RayReceived a legit call from Citibank on an outstanding issue - however I have gotten suspicious calls on the same number. Scammers are aware of this so don't trust anyone's identity based on caller ID so I call them back on the number on my bank card and ask to be connected that way.
- Caller: Citibank
