Have received several calls from 888-279-9221 on my cell. All of the calls came after applying online for travel brochures.  Didn't recognize the number so...figuring it was either a bill collector or a salesman...I didn't answer. On other websites, I learned that answering the calls from this number or others verifies that my phone number is active and legitimate.  It also openes me up to a scam that apparently has something to do with non-existant magazine subscriptions.  There are several names and numbers associated with this number.  They also employ sending postcards claiming that they need to reach you with good news and ask that you call the number asap.  Beware.

Call made to my cell phone (how did they get this I do not know) and I didn't answer. Voice mail was background noise. When I called back a man answered without saying hello and said "Did you receive a postcard from us?" I answered "No," and he followed with "A phone call?" I replied "Yes, to my personal cell phone and I would like you to stop calling." With that he hung up on me with nothing further said.

Call was on my cell phone, I had no idea of the number (which I usually don't  answer) but who ever was from this number, has been calling all morning. When I answered, all the caller had said was 'Marisa?', and I was like, um...yeah, then they hung up. Tried calling it back, didn't get an answer.

Got call today from 888-279-9221, girl saying she is calling to give me some really good information and to call her back.  Good information in my eyes, is hand me the check, you don't need to call first, and They didn't say they were Publisher's Clearing House with the 10 million dollars they keep saying they are giving out.  I don't answer toll free numbers, especially on my cell phone it is only for emergencies, and the home phone is unlisted.  It also has privacy manager, that probably why they are trying the cell phone now.  What give's only my children have that number!!!

I've received six calls in the last three days from this number.

The first time a message was left, telling me they had "great news" for me, and that I should call them back.

Yesterday I picked up one of their calls, and the person I spoke with said she was calling from "Publisher National Sweepstakes". I said I'd never heard of this organization. She replied that they were in Atlanta, as if that somehow bestowed credibility. I repeated that although I was familiar with Publisher's Clearing House, I'd never heard of Publisher National. She insisted that "we're like them, we just don't promote as much." Again I maintained I'd never heard of them--saying more explicitly, that if I was unfamiliar with their sweepstakes, I most likely hadn't entered, and was thus suspicious about having won. She asked me, "Don't you want to hear about the prizes?" I replied that what I really wanted was for her to remove me from her list and to not call me again.

Today I received another call from them. When I answered, there was silence, a click, and the line disconnected.

Person called several times and I didn't answer. Finally, I answered and they asked for Valerie and I said they had the wrong number. They continue to call and when I answer they hang up each time. Very frustrating when you continue to get this calls over and over.

I got a postcard from a company called P.R.S. out of Atlanta, GA with this phone number on it.  It says "We are trying to reach you with Good News!  It is real important that you call Toll Free..."  I called and it was a voice recording for about 5 minutes that said an operator would be with me shortly.  I didn't want to hold anymore, so I hung up.  Other sites have said they try to sell you a bunch of magazines to enter a sweestakes.

I've been getting calls on my cell phone from this number for the past week, multiple times a day.  I finally called the number back on a land-line and I got a live person.  Said they had good news and that I had been entered in some sweepstakes in Atlanta, Georgia.

The evening of the same day I called back, they called me again!  They gave me the same story, but this time they said they were going to send me some magazines which would only cost me $3.68 per week.  I finally said I had cancelled my credit card and didn't have one that I was currently using.  They wished me good luck and hung up.
