This company just called the my business number today--wasn't sure if we were residential or business.  When I asked them to place me on the DNC list, gentleman said that we would not be able to do that.  This organization needs to be reported.

Same story: multiple calls, several an hour the past few days. Gave up & answered today - the guy asked if this was a company name my husband had years ago that never got off the ground. Their "sales leads" are ice cold, years out of date! They won't last long, they can't be finding too many business owners interested in whatever they're selling. I told him our business was defuncto & to stop calling us. He apologized (!?) and thanked me for the info. We'll see...

SCREW THE TELCOS FOR PROTECTING SCUM
This 888-288-7668 autodialer has called me three times, today, and multiple times on other random days. The internet buzz is that this scum company is ***relentlessly*** calling numbers to determine if they are business lines. This 888-288-7668 autodialer may be the same company that is calling out via 888-518-0186, with the same tactics.

ATT and other phone companies give the middle finger to customers pestered by these calls (after all, ATT sells the service!), and the Do-Not-Call Gov site, with no contacts and no individual follow-up, is like pissing in the wind (still, I use it, figuring that the more who complain...).

We need a ***telco insider*** to look up these numbers and spill the beans on the scum company making the calls...its owner, location, and non-800/888 land lines...so that we may call the scum and harass them in the same way without being 800/888-caller-ID'ed.

I received 3 calls today - I asked them not to call back each time. Noise in the background, people talking - obviously a call room. They claim they call annully but that is a lie - they have never called me before. They claim they are updating their records. They keep talking about environmental business practices. Won't answer the question what do you want?

The second time I berrated the guy. The last time I told them to hold on and just placed the phone down. Next time perhaps a whistle will deter them.

I received a call from this number, when I answers someone quickly said "I need to verify some information about your business" and I immediately said "Who is this?" and he said "Chris" and I said "Where are you calling from?" and he hung up on me.  I called the number back and got a recorded message that they said someone was calling to administer a short survey regarding environmental business practices, and since I was "not available" they contacted another participant.  yeah right. They were trying to sell something for sure. We get a lot of calls like this.

This number belongs to a company called findagreenbusiness.net.
They called our business last week...the rep did not identify the company he was calling from, nor himself...just wanted to verify our business information, which I didn't give him.
When I inquired about where he was calling from and what this was in reference to, he told me his name was Raymond calling from this company and that this is an online directory service. I further inquired as to who from our company signed us up for this service and he told me that all the businesses in Gerogia are automatically listed in this directory. We are a very small company, don't have a website and don't advertise online at all.
While we were on the phone, I looked up the website and sure enough, we are listed on their directory. After about 4 times of trying to get him to explain how in the world our company was listed here, he got frustrated with me, called me the "b" word and hung up on me. I very calmly began hitting every "contact us" button on their website, emailing what had just happened. I also logged a complaint with the FCC. To their credit, I was contacted by email and a phone call from a supervisor telling me that this employee had been reprimanded and that our number would be placed on their DO NOT CALL list.
Very good...except that they called this past Monday & twice on Tuesday. On Tuesday, I told the first rep that called that they needed to check their records because we are supposed to be on the DNC list. The second time, I asked for a supervisor and told him to check the email correspondance reagrding our phone number and gave him the name of the supervisor that had contacted me after my complaint.
I also re-visited their website and emailed the cancellation department, so I have it in writing that we never signed up for this service, so I have proof in writing if they try to send an invoice or something.
As if it isn't hard enough to be a small business, we have to constantly be on the lookout for sleezy scams from jokers like this. Of course, when you call their number, it says it is not in service. What reputable company has that?!

The folks at "findagreenbusiness.net" can't seem to get past our PBX's "voice robot" greeting.  They always hang up just after the call rings through to a real person at this end.

Aren't computers, configured by brain-damaged programmers, wonderful, especially when working on concert with dip-s**t telemarketers? :-)

These folks need to go directly to jail!

We get calls from these types of "surveyors" trying to update our listing on their websites.  We typically have 3 actions:

    1.  Hang up on them.
    2.  Tell them we will transfer them to the person authorizes to release the information then hang up.
    3.  Say hello over and over as if we can't hear them until they hang up.

No reason to get upset with them, when you play with them. ;)

We have received several calls a day. I have answered each time. A ton of back ground noice and chattering. They repeatedly ask is this @$#%$ company. That they need to verify information. I kept asking why did they need this infromation. They would hang up each time.

same story here,..... FFC.gov actually hands out fines, thousands of dollars high. you guys need to all report it to them in that complaint form available on this FCC website.

    here the direct link:

    http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm

the BBB (better business bureau) is a farce , they only check with businesses reputations , that are registered with them. they cant hand out fines, and care even less about companies NOT registered with them.

so...anyone wants to actually leave a dent here with these kind of fraud companies, then files an online complaint with the FCC website, it takes 3 minutes to do, you will receive a letter from FCC , which you also need to follow up on.

please spread the word on this FCC.gov websiteoption to everyone within here as well ;)

Some gal with a heavy accent wanted to verify our address I told her I won't verify anything without knowing to whom I am speaking, she said she was Donna with findagreenbusiness.net and she was just updating our current listing.  I said weren't green by any stretch of the imagination and she said fine I'll make a note of that and hung up.

Another suggestion to add to CD's list, when they ask for some one, tell them to hold on while you get them and then just set the phone down and leave them waiting while you go about your business. I figure the more of their time that is wasted, the less calls they can make. I've had some people wait for over 5 minutes.

I received a call from these people for the third time. This time I decided to mess with what sounded like an asian woman. As she started into her routine, I interupted her and said I have a question for her. When she stopped and said "Ok", I then asked her what color panties was she wearing. She said she was going to have to end the conversation. I managed to keep her on the phone while I asked if she shaved or did she have a full pubic growth. I kept up this line of questioning until she finally hung up. From now on this is how I handle these calls.
