The past week everyday I received a call.
Didn't leave a message.
Didn't answer the first couple of times.
Must be robo-calling and takes a while for rep to connect.

Anyway talked to rep who stated they were calling to verify information that can be found under Google, Yahoo, etc for their online Green Business Directory...  She read off the: contact name, business name, business address.  She also told me her name.  All of which information is I am sure BS.  I Googled the information she gave me, and did not find my phone number on anything.  Nor can I find it on anything.

In a calm respectful voice, I informed her it was not the correct information for my phone number and requested that she remove me from her database.  

If you don't answer the phone and tell them to remove your number, then they have the right to call again and again.  So don't be a chicken and answer the phone.  After you tell all these people to REMOVE you from their lists, you will stop getting calls.  Ignoring them is not a way to solve it.

I keep a log with date & time of companies who I request to remove me from their lists.

OnDonotCallListSince1day is correct, this is findagreenbusiness.net and is owned by Green Initiatives, LLC. I'm guessing they are get around the do not call list by pretending to take a survey. They are in fact telemarketers trying to get small businesses to list on their directory. They tell you it is free and they do not collect any information. These people are very deceptive and unethical. They use what is called "cramming" to charge you through your phone bill and try to trick you into saying "yes" to get your permission. They call 3 times a day:  morning, mid afternoon, evening.  They somehow have my cell number, too.  The interesting twist is that they call my office and my cell numbers simultaneously...so both phones ring and both flash the same number:  888-288-7668!  

On the Do Not Call list for both numbers!!!!!

How do we make them stop?  It is very embarrassing to let your phones ring when with a client....but I fear that if I answer, they will call even more!

They need to follow the rules Do Not Call, for I will never answer the phone , just wasting their time..

Like I said, what a waste of my time! Somebody call the cops!

Hard to believe it's just a coincidence since it's happened several time...first my cell phone starts ringing, then, within ten seconds (while the cell phone is still ringing), my office line starts ringing.  Both calls show this number on the caller ID.  It's a little spooky since I don't give out my cell phone number to very many people, and I have to believe it's someone who knows that both numbers are owned by the same person since they're calling them both at the same time.  I have suspected a creepy guy I used to go out with, but maybe that's just paranoia since I see that others have reported calls from this same number.

This "Green Initiatives, LLC" (1-866-868-9314) company did not call me, but sent me a 'snail mail' requesting that I add my business to their directory, and charge me $49.99 a month via my phone bill for the service. I believe that they found me via my website. My business is a small, family-owned-and-operated business that couldn't afford such a fee, but even if my business could afford it, the charge seems needlessly excessive. Plus, they didn't even ask if we WERE green! If you pay, they will list you! I could be the worst polluter known to man, and be listed if I simply paid for the service! Cool beans, although I don't really care one way or another. It seems like a scam to me!

Don't be shy about writing a letter to the Florida State Attorney General office and complaining about their tactics.  Here's the address:

The owner of this company OG Green Initiatives is Todd Fisch. He has a call center in the Philippines. Now they go by Environmental Impact LLC.
