I got one that says, "In celebration of your birthday, you were verified and as a result of this offer your name and Ticketing Number have been issued!"  It continues and tells me I've won an 8 day/7 night cruise and if I call within 48 hours I get plane fair also (both from anywhere and to anywhere). It looks like it was printed on a black and white laser printer and has the Carnival logo (black and white) on both pieces. On the back of the "Boarding Pass" it states the company is Sunset Vacations in Daytona Beach, FL phone number is (877) 356-2986. Also on the back in very fine print it states that I'd need to sit through a 90 minute presentation.

Just got the card offering a Carnival Cruis and 2 airfares!  Seems the offer is going up!  The phone number was 888-472-8026 and address 22 W Washington Street, Chicago, IL 60602.  I scheduled an appoiontment for the 90 minute presentation to be conducted at 550 Warrenville Road, Suite 100B, Lisle, IL 60532 with Cass at 800-655-9247.  After seeing all of this, I called back and cancelled the appointment.  Thanks everyone for taking the time with these posts to save others...like me.

Never Never fall into this kind of scam, you will  not only waste 90 minutes of your time, you might loose all your saving if you got convinced to buy their time share jokes.
I rather look on-line for some special package if you like travel.
Be careful everyone, when you get this kind of letter.

Like everyone above, I received the Birthday card with an offer.  Mine was for two round trip airline tickets to any major international airport in the continental U.S.  I called to set up the appointment yesterday knowing darn well that it was a time share or vacation club.  Since I immediately expected them to be a scam, I searched the Internet to find proof.  On this site, I found 11 pages of people warning everyone about a scam, but I didn't read one single message about anyone attending the presentation themselves.  As a result, I wasted a lot of time reading about nothing.  Has anyone actually attended one of these presentations and gotten ripped-off?  IF so, how?  Please tell me some details instead of a lot of hear say.

Just called the number to get them to leave me alone.  I wouldn't commit to a time for the "awarding ceremony" but the lady is going to "sign me up" anyway.  I certainly won't go anywhere and I AM emailing the BBB.

I called them and was told the company they represent is RCI. After the 90 minute presentation you get the ticket voucher. If you want to change it you can. It appears there are complalaints about RCI. It is not timeshares as such but rather a travel club where you rack up points for travel by paying in at different levels. It appears that some of the people who do this are very happy- but you need to be flexible in what you want and be ready to book way in advbance for in demand properties. It seems many attend the presentation and are able to leave with the ticket voicers and don't join. If I do it that is my goal... leve the $ at home and go- get the free tickets and don't fall for the salers pitch. Mailer says Ultimate vacations- but was told on the phone when I called that it is RCI.

Listen everyone. This is not a scam. it is a marketing tool like Silverleaf and tahiti village and other places do. You go listen and if you like it you buy otherwise you go get your ticket voucher and follow the steps and must be flexible with travel. Other then tat you get a extra to branson or wisconsin to stay at another timeshare free and listen to them, if you know how to play and say no alot of freebees.

Got a call from 312-386-5981 saying I'm a semi-finalist for a new 2011 Camero.  Sad thing is that I did enter a contest at a mall for this car.  Never again, am I filling out any sweepstakes entry form at a mall.  They wanted me to go to 550 Warrenville suite 100b in Lisle as well.  I kind of smelled the [***] when they mentioned no kids under 10 were allowed at the appointment.

I also filled out a sweepstakes entry form at Orland Square Mall for this.  Received a call that I am a semi-finalist too.  Called them back and made an appointment, but my gut is telling me not to go.  I think I will stay home and bake Christmas cookies.  Didn't like the fact they called me at 9:30 PM to confirm my appointment for the next day.  That seemed fishy to me.  I will never fill out an entry form at the mall again either.  This site saved me a lot of time and grief.

Thanks for you messages. I just got a call saying that I'd either win a Chevy Camero or at worst win either a trip to Venice Beach or to Las Vegas. The number they called from was (312) 445-9038. I called the number back to see if anyone would answer. It said that the recipient's mailbox was full. This sounded fishy coming from a "legitimate business" called Paradise Travel located at 550 Warrenville Road, Suite 100B in Lisle, Illinois. Thanks for checking them on the BBB. I hope no one else falls for their scams.
