- Trang Nguyen| 3 repliesJust got a phone call from Karen at (312) 445-9038 said I have a chance to win a car or 2 vacations to Vegas or New Orleans for participating a winning draw 550 Warrenville suite 100b in Lisle.
I'm paranoid so I look at the phone number on White Page, it was register was Ernest Patterson, 9017 S Morgan St, Chicago IL. She told me the company is based in Nevada and the call center which she is calling from is based in California. So how do you explain the Chicago number register to a residential address in south side Chicago. I even checked zillow on the property and it is definitely no call center of company. First red flag.
Then I check the website that she told me www.paradisetravels.us, It was registered godaddy.com, There were 2 visits the last 3 months. She said the company has been around for 26 years, you would think there are more than 2 people visit the site within the last 3 months. Second red flag
Then I checked the IP address for the website, it is in Scottsdale, AZ. So here we go another address for this same Paradise Travel company. Third red flag
I called her back to take me off the list, confronted her and all she said was : "But it is not a scam though!!! Can you hold on, Im going to get my boss" . No lady, I have wasted enough of my time with you.
I guess I can do more research but what I found out so far is more than enough for me to rest my case. I ALMOST bought it because she said I would not have to fill out anything, buy anything, give away any more personal information rather than my name and address, just attend to the presentation for the prize. SCAMMER!!! STAY AWAY!
Can I report this to the police or FBI or some kind of law enforcer, many people out there might not be cautious enough and fall for this bushwa?!?!? They need to be stopped!- Caller: Paradise
- Jessica| 1 replyI also filled out the card at the mall, figuring why not?
I was a little wary of some of the questions, for example, income but I submitted it none the less.
Yesterday I received a call from Jennifer 3124459200 saying she was from paradise travels, and that I was selected as a semi finalist. While I was listening to her talk, I tried to google both Paradise Travels, Lisle, the number, and the address she gave me. Nothing really seemed to add up. The number said it was registered to a Dr office in Chicago, and it would not pull as a business in Lisle.
Jennifer tried to make it seem very important that I MUST come in as soon as possible. I said there is no way I could drive to Lisle tonight. Then she acted almost desperate to set an appointment with me. I said I would do Saturday afternoon. Then she told me that I had to bring with me Mail, my ID, and my Credit card to 'confirm that it was really me' and becuase the prizes are oh so valuable. She also said I would have to check a box and sign something about my income.
As soon as i heard that last part, I knew I wouldn't be going. I hope nobody else does. If they call me to confirm the appointment i was dumb anough to make, they may just get an earfull.- Caller: Paradise Travels
- Ab| 1 replyBIG SCAM.. Paradise Travels. 550 Warrenville Road , 100 B , Lisle, IL 60532...
They called me up yesterday stating that I am one of the finalists to win a car or in worse case a vacation package to Vegas. I know it was fishy but I tagged along.. I am glad I researched and found out its a SCAM. Please don't fall for it. they will give you a number (877-845-7531) to confirm your appointment. If you ask more direct questions, they will avoid. I was lucky that during those questions "time-sharing" slipped from her end and I caught it.- Caller: Paradise Travels

I am not easily convinced....My wife and received a call from Jennifer as well. She told us that the form we filled out at Gurnee Mills to win the camero was selected. As soon as she said that I new it was some sort of sales pitch. I did my research and found out it was. I like these things. My schedule isn't too hectic and I have plenty of time. I took the 45 minute drive and checked it out. They're selling timeshare. They have you watch a presentation and you turn a key into a box. Of course I didn't win the car. The car is they're hook to get people down there. I did however recieve two roundtrip tickets to Las Vegas with a two night hotel stay. To my surprise they were fairly easy to redeem but you can't fly on any holidays... the whole thing took a little under 2 hours
In conclusion.... Sales pitch YES.... Scam NO - Robert A replies to Ab!!! WARNING: THIS IS A FAKE COMMENT !!!

You caught it? What in the world is wrong with timeshare if you get a free vacation? They do a lot better than the old days when you used to get toaster ovens, or silverware sets. Of course it's timeshare you dork!!! - ONE PERSON replies to sushijack!!! WARNING: THIS IS A FAKE COMMENT !!!

I went with my wife and daughter. We didn't buy anything and we got 6 nights at the dells in WI. It was kinda lame but it didn't take all night. If your going to go to try to win the car forget it. If you want a free vacation DO IT. - Valentin replies to ClearAndDescript!!! WARNING: THIS IS A FAKE COMMENT !!!

I checked it out. It's alright. Not the best 90 minutes I've spent but I didn't have to purchase to get my tickets. 2 roundtrip coach tickets and a 2 night hotel stay at the marriot in vegas. My wife and I had fun on the trip and didn't have to jump through hoops to claim the tickets. Not a total waste of time if your in the area. - Laughing Out Loud replies to Trang Nguyen| 2 replies!!! You did quite an okay job with your investigation.
Where you fell short is actually checking it out. Thanks to idiots like your self full of skepticism the room wasn't too packed to get some good information on vacationing. I'm an owner with RCI and they still allowed me to go to the presentation to listen to the shpeal and get some free gifts. I got two round trip air line tickets from O'hare to LAX. Not a bad deal at all. I redeemed them and I'm writing this from San Clemente CA. For those interested it only took an hour and a half. Group presentation, not high pressure one on one.
You are very paranoid, but thank you for making room for me to get a seat! - Check First replies to Waste of Time| 7 repliesThank you for all your warnings dated 2010, 2011 and it's May 10th, 2012 now, still doing the same stories like you posted here. you were all right and they change their scheme or story but the address is the same at 550 Warrenville rd. Suite 100 B rd, Lislle, il.They have a booth at one of the big mall and there's a raffle. so, in short the rep name is Shanti Diaz who called me that I was chosen for a chance to win 2012 Camaro or $25,000 if the key is right if not, I will still have a chance to win a free trip, Las Vegas or Orlando, FL. She also mentioned about the 90 minute presentation. It's the same banana what you're all sharing from your experiences. I'm glad I checked first.I'm just googling the location coz it's a bit far, but lo and behold, all these scam stories just came up. Thank God for saving me. Thank you people for your warnings.
- John Votila replies to bowcowboyYou are all just timeshare hating people. My wife and I love these things so we gave them a shot last week. We recieved two roundtrip tickets and a two night hotel stay in Vegas. What is wrong with timeshare if you recieve the free gift for your time? Of course it's an advertising shpeal but my wife and I love them if they don't take all night. We arrived at 5:30pm and we were out the door by 7 with our tickets!!!
I enjoyed it because it didn't take hours and we got some good information. They have really great deals on timeshare and the group presentation makes it less pressure. Thanks for making room for my broke ass!!! VEGAS BABY! - Rita| 1 replyHa, ha I'm reading all of these and thinking the exact opposite. I'm going to this "presentation" turning them down and getting my free trip! The economy doesn't allow some of us to afford luxuries such as vacations and these people are giving them away. Jokes on them if u ask me. I won't be giving them any bank or credit card info. I won't be buying a timeshare, and I don't mind spending 90 minutes telling them so. We had plans to take our family to Disney in October anyway and this will just free up money for two airline tickets and add a couple extra nights stay! I'm thrilled, can't wait.

- AS replies to RitaRita,
Can you tell me how it went for you? I actually called them wanting to find out info. They have me scheduled for a presentation & I intend to do the same thing you said. Please let me now how it worked for you.
Thank you! - FaadiHello guys,
Same thing happened with me but i asked them if this is fake or a time wasting effort. I got the reply as it's legit and you don't have to sign anything.
Now my question is, should i go check it out or not?- Caller: paradise travel
- EB| 1 replyWent to the presentation. It's NOT A SCAM and I've been to 2 others years ago by Wyndam Resorts and Marriot. The thing is you are paying for an opportunity to travel and vacation at reduced costs for the rest of your lives. My fiancee and I purchased but after thinking it over, We are cancelling it because even though we were able to talk them down 5G's from the regular price, it's not for us at the moment. To anyone who travels or has the time to travel or plans on traveling more in the near and far future, I say go for it and talk them down as low as possible. You're talking about monthly financed payments and interest or 1 lump sum the night of the presentation + HOA fees yearly and other smaller fees. Oh and by the way, this is not timeshares but villas and 5 star Hotel stays for weeks out of a year. Also, the 2012 CHevy Camaro.... Yeah, no one is going to win that. All the keys are basic cut keys from like a home depot. That was my main reason for going honestly and was highly disappointed once we spent 4 hours in Lisle, IL to ultimately decide we were going to cancel. Words to the wise, READ EVERYTHING! ASK QUESTIONS!

312 241 1407....(not 213).... - Stephanie replies to ARMYMOMI got a similar call from (312) 239-3656 with the same message. I wasn't eligible for the car but they still wanted me to go to Lisle to accept the vacation... I don't know if it's legit yet, my dad said they'd make me sign up for a time-share and I had them call my mom to give her more information. I wonder how many other people got that same call....
