- Isaac| 1 replyThese scum bags keep calling my phone even after i blocked them
- Caller: Midland credit management
- LuluFord| 3 repliesMidland bottom feeding debt collectors. I wonder why they thing anyone would call them back or do business with them? They are filth of the lowest kind. I just block them and make sure that I help protect assets of family members from them. Eventually they go away after the statute of limitations is up. Best advice is never ever talk to them.

- BigA replies to LuluFord| 2 repliesYes, heaven forbid we should make them follow the law and then sue them when they don't thus getting a nice fat check from them for the harassment. If you really want to know what to do read my post on page 2
- Theresa replies to beyond annoyedThey get your phone numbers from your credit report. These people are relentless. I don't answer any calls that I don't know the number or I answer and immediately hang up before they say anything. These are robocalls so they immediately drop your number if someone else answers the call. They have constantly called me even after I told them I have been divorced from the person they are looking for (25 years ago we divorced). I am sure the statute of limitations has run out on his debt by now, but these Scum Bags will stop at nothing.
- joanneThey have called me every morning at 9:15 am for weeks and weeks. If I answer, no one talks. I will block this call and hope that it works.
- LuluFord| 5 repliesBottom feeders. I blocked them. They robo called three times today. Best advice. Never talk to them or have any dealings. The most they could do is get a judgement if you actually owed anything. That judgment would allow them to go into a bank account for a period of twenty-four hours. If you kept you accounts low and bills paid, or had accounts under other people's names and social security numbers they are SOL. If you don't actually have any dealings or owe debts as direct co-signers, let them do what they will. It would be an outright fraud for them to come after you. If they do, report them to the FTC and FBI. It is a criminal act akin to extortion and robbery for them to go to court and misrepresent the pertinent facts. Keep in mind. You are not responsible for things you do no control. If other family members have listed you without permission, nothing they owe is your responsibility. Bottom line. Let the bottom feeders pound salt. There is a statute of limitiations. They have purchased a bad debt. Tough luck. Here are some good devices. https://www.google.com/search?q=phone+blocker ... ockers&tbm=shop

- BigA replies to LuluFord"The most they could do is get a judgement if you actually owed anything. That judgment would allow them to go into a bank account for a period of twenty-four hours. If you kept you accounts low and bills paid, or had accounts under other people's names and social security numbers they are SOL." In order to get the judgement you have to be properly served, go to court, and lose your case. Now as to the assertion that it would only allow them to access a bank account, that is false. Depending on state law, they could access anything you own including vehicles, furniture, and any other assets. It would also be placed on your credit report for 7 years. If it is discovered that you are hiding assets, that might also cause a legal problem, again depending on state law since all states are different. The FBI has nothing to do with debt collectors. The proper agencies are the CFPB and your state attorney general.
Now why don't you actually read the pertinent laws before giving lame advice? Because if you were really knowledgeable about these matters, you would have known that they best way to handle them is to sue them under FDCPA and FCRA statutes.

"....That judgment would allow them to go into a bank account for a period of twenty-four hours. If you kept you accounts low and bills paid, or had accounts under other people's names and social security numbers they are SOL."?? That is a wild distortion of process and I can't imagine where you saw that, or how you came to write and believe that statement. "Allow access to a bank account"? - Are you nuts? Where did you come up with that?
Between your misapprehension of law and promoting your beer-talk fantasy revenge, I have to say your posts are harmful to people here who come looking for information. Anyone who believes an iota of your posts is putting themselves at risk. Please, post only truthful information. Your best choice here is to listen and learn. You are a long way from being competent and able to give advice or help.
- BigA replies to B-Edwards| 2 repliesI missed that B. That judgement hangs around for a few years, and then can sometimes be renewed for the same amount of time. So they would be able to go into a bank account or any other asset as long as the judgement is in force,
Here is the SOL on judgements: For instance Alabama, the first state is 20 years and they can apply a 12% interest rate on it besides.
