We keep getting phone calls on my husband's cell phone for a woman.  We have told them for over a year now that this woman does not have this cell phone number any longer and to please STOP calling us.

We even told the cell phone company about it saying that we don't want this phone number IF we are going to be continually harassed.

Telling them them that you are not this person and to remove you and the phone calls stop for ONLY a certain length then they start back up.
So don't believe them when they say "Oh yes we'll remove your number" that is BS.

    Very annoying.

So I called my mom to catch up and she says a man named FRANK called. I was really confused because I KNOW THAT I never put my house phone down for anything. She said someone from this number was calling. I was totally scared because over the summer, when I was moving I needed to show a credit report. AND I HAD THOUGHT I HAD PERFECT CREDIT, but it turns out this scam got onto my credit report. they gave me SUCH A HARD TIME, I HAD TO MISS WORK, GO TO THE POLICE TO REPORT IT, AND IT TOOK AWHILE BEFORE I could get this matter fixed. The issue was, I have NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT BEFORE AND WHEN I LOOKED AT THE ADDRESSES ETC, THEY SAID I LIVED IN ANOTHER CITY CLOSE TO MINE AND AT THE TIME I NEVER MOVED EVER IN MY LIFE! now they are calling back and being my mom, i warned her to NOT GIVE UP ANY INFORMATION BUT THOSE CRAZY COLLECTORS WILL CALL FOR ALL THE TIME. IM AFRAID THAT THEY WILL TRY TO SCAM ME AGAIN... i am just a regular citizen who pays my bills on time, and here they are trying to con me and harass me..... its so stressful! but to anyone who is going through this.

if you must talk to any of them, get their name.
    i even recorded the conversation!
    ALSO, KEEP ALL RECORDS
    MAKE A POLICE REPORT.
    REPORT THEM EVERYWHERE YOU CAN!

i re-read some of the things i wrote. and out of frustration it doesnt all make sense lol

    but pretty much:
they said i owe a bill to at&t. first time was 83, next was 550.

i did not, i said i would only pay it if it were me. they even told me they would send me a receipt. and mind you, we were talking over the phone?

now they are looking for me. but calling my mothers home. insane

i called att and they said it didnt even exist!

Lately I have been receiving phone calls on my cell phone which I bought three months ago from all kinds of weird parties.  It turns out they are looking for someone else, but have called more than 6 or 7 times.  I am contacting them  again and if they call I am reporting them to the Attorney General of Nevada.

These people have called my 8 year old's cell phone for about a year now.  I have called back telling them they have the wrong number, but they still call... (Oh, and the only reason my son has a cell at his age is because I work full time and his 16 year old uncle, who doesn't have have a cell phone, watches him after school...)  Really wish these people would stop calling!!

Called, but we didn't answer. After reading all these posts, I'll simply block them with our Panasonic phone--but I do feel for all those people who got the calls on their cell phones. I thought cell phones were supposed to be off-limits for this type of fishing call.

I'm 15, just got a new phone and number and do not use AT&T.

Two days after I got my phone I got a call from them, and I didn't give my number out to anyone.

Why,after all the people that post on this so-call help line.Nothing stops. This is only a place to let off steam. If you think about it,you get a phone and along with that phone comes a number. They know how many calls you make. What time you made them.Is your bill up to date.Where you live AND who to send the bill to.But you can-not stop a person that keeps calling you for no good. This is what our phone companys do to us.When I call they tell me I can get a new number ( one time free ).As soon as they give you the new number just go to 411.com and its there.Your new number, the people who they think lives in your house. And to make sure you have the right person, they list the last 4 or 5 places you have lived. Now,if I called and told them you did something to me over the phone the 1st thing is FCC,2nd they know what time you called and how long you talked.Who runs this place.Up front you can not stop and thing. The people who run this is just as bad as the people we are reporting!

    Just a guy
Received a call today asking for a FRIEND whom I haven't spoken with in about a year in a different state.  I stated they had the wrong number.  She asked If I knew where they were today.  She provided her name and number (no extension).  I left a voice mail for my friend about the call and the number.  She called back and let me know it was a bill collector.

My concerns are HOW did CBCS get my number?  I have an unlisted number and am on the do not call list?  A credit score in excess 780. A google search of my number reveals nothing.  This is a friend, not an ex wife, GF or lover.  As a guy who works in the IT security field I find this very disturbing and I actually feel violated.

I was called by SUSAN at CBCS 888 325-3826, 23 March 2011 at around 12:15
