Apparently I had a balance with AT&T from when I switched over to Comcast.  I never received any bill or anything and last I spoke with At&T my acct was up to date.  They referred the acct after 30 days (really?) to this place who then called my boss on his cell phone and gave the details of my account which I didnt even know about.  Not only did AT&T not send me a bill or give me a chance to clear up the $69.00 bill they sent it directly to them and then how they got my boss's cell number is beyond me but I let the person there have an ear full.  I am now going to write a letter to the better business bureau.  That is aggressive collection and its against the law!

As is the case with the rest of you here, I get calls daily from this number.  It most certainly is from "CBCS" and they either buy all the ATT paper or it is handed over by ATT.  The calls are generated by an autodialer and some of them are only 1 or 2 rings.  Some advise to those of you that simply can't ignore a call:  
1. Do not answer calls from numbers you don't recognize. Legit callers will leave a message.
2. After a call or 2 from these shady types, add them to your address book or contacts and send them directly to voicemail or assign a silent ring tone.
3. Do not call them back or engage them in conversation, that is, if you do get a real human on the line.  They do not care what you have to say.  
This is how I handle any and all nuisance calls and have for years.  Remember, legitimate callers will leave a message.

They call and ask for someone, I cant understand a word they say. They are not looking for me. They call numerous times a day....

They are contacting wrong person.Sick of this.they call from about 4 or 5 different numbers.I am going to report them if they do not stop.I sick of them!!!!

Called them back.  They are looking for a B.H., either former owner of phone number or former tenant.  Asked to be removed from calling list.

Received the same type call just yesturday on my son's cell phone.  They were looking for a guy by the name of Wilburn Johnson Jr. or something like that. The nice lady said she would remove the number after I told her the number was my minor childs cell phone number and I didn't know the guy.

These 800 numbers need to stop calling/harassing...

A**holes!!! Called me yesterday using this SPOOFED number 866-760-5159, then today with 888--325-3826.

Guess what I already have a lawyer handling other criminal/illegal debt collectors that have tried to harass and threaten me into paying them a debt I don't have... and after these a**holes tried yesterday (at that time 14 total calls from them) I contacted my lawyer... prior to posting here I contacted him again about this, the 15th illegal, call!

Let's see $1,500 x 15 = $22,500 so far I'll collect from THEM for this BS harassment!!!

FYI, these a**holes are in repeated violations of the FDCPA and FCRA!!!

Blame your phone company- Dead beats change their numbers and the phone folks recycle them to us lucky new holders. Phone Cos probably enjoy them making all these fruitless calls.

Received message at work to call back "Cheryl",  said it was a "personal matter." Never heard of them before. After reading this, I won't be calling them back.

They wanted to know last 4 digits of my SS#.
When I asked why they would need that? To make sure they were talking to the right person!!! They call constantly!

This will serve all who have an Android phone. Go to your market and download Ringo lite which is free. This allows you to assign a silent ringtone, a silent SMS tone and most importantly send all calls from this and any number you choose strait to voicemail. Since they don't leave voicemails your home free. This works great for me. If I were to block the number the would spoof their number and get through. This way they cannot even tell it's as if your phone is simply off. Download Ringo,save the number as a contact, then open Ringo,go to contacts, assign silent ringtone and SMS and check box send to voicemail.  The best part of it all is if your on the web or not you won't even know or be disturbed. You can delete any email at your convenience if they did leave a message.... I hope this helps. It sure helped me.

these freaks showed up on my doorstep  when i wasnt home . left there 1 888 number wanted me to call someone named HAROLD . WHEN I CALL THE A LADY ANSWERED  CBCS.  THEN ASKED ME FOR MY PHONE NUMBER WHEN I ASKED HER WHAT WAS THIS PRATAINING TO SHE HUNG UP.  SCAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

Stupid lowlife scum! That's what they are! Hey, CBCS, guess what, pigs? I already have a lawyer that's been handling other trash like you for me and have already alerted them about your previous illegal harassing calls! Get a clue, moron's ... NO debt to collect here!!! NO pay for you, 18 calls from you to date so far and that's at least $1,000 per violation! My lawyer may get more but I WILL get at least some decent compensation out of this as well as getting you sick [***] to stop calling me! Got it!!!
