Hi!! this people have been callin me at the office.  I'm from Puerto Rico, and they even called me at my cell!! what can I do?

Hi, I received an envemop the sender's address as PO BOX 1022 Wixom MI 48393-1022 and I googled it and found your posting.  So, this is a collection company?  Thank you for your posting.

Susan Peterson from Tiburon Financial LLC was the rudest person I have ever encountered. Not only did she allude to very rude personal remarks about me, but actually lowered her voice and one point and said you can just f--- off and hung up on me! i had tried to call back on the caller ID number but it was not a incoming business line.

I cant wait for her to call me again. I don't have the letter they sent me, but hopefully another one will come. She doesnt deserve to be working. The conversation was so weiered. Like she is a bi-polar crazy!
I was told by an attorney to record her, and if I do pay to make sure a real manager takes her off my account so she does not commision from my account!  Interesting.  He also said to forward my case to Wells Fargo Home Equity so they know what kind of crazy collector is at Tiburon Financial!  Something else I wouldnt have known!

Student loan collection agency 30year old debt.

I had the unfortunate pleasure of talking with "Doug" and "Dana" at this agency.  They left a long, detailed message on my cell phone (how they got the unpublished number is beyond me! Called me repeatedly at work the same day after calling my home and leaving a message -- which they admanantly denied and "Doug" laughed on the phone and told me I was basically a liar and that was not possible.  I even offerred to provide written proof via fax.  Asked for their fax number but was put on hold and then he came back and said "how are you going to take of this debt" "you owe it - pay up" "I don't have to play nice, I am a collector."  What a rip!   I did not even know what he was calling about.  I asked for his supervisor, and was told no. I asked for the manager and was told no "You will deal with me."  WRONG! I hung up, called back got the wonderful personality of "Dana" who said "You will not talk, I will do the talking." Again, asked for a superivsor, and she put me on hold for over 10 minutes, "Holly" came on and said she sits right beside "Dana" and heard her conversation and "I was rude and overbearing." How could that be when I do not owe a debt, do not know what/who they want and they keep calling me and will not give me any info??  I asked Holly for specifics and come to find out they wanted a cousin of my ex- husband - - not me.  Same last name but refused to quit calling me, saying I was this person.  I am 12 years older, she lives in Chicago, IL and I live in NE and have never lived in IL! They said that they were given info that I use a different name and I received a letter.  They had her address, my phone number.  Finally, after 25 min of me saying if you do not stop harrassing me, I will call our local authorities and file a federal compliant she verabally agreed to take my numbers off their system, but would note the account as a "refusal to pay." I said fine, it is not my account, it is not me and I will not give you any information! This company should be out of business! They definitely succeed at trying to harrass and intimidate the individual (even if the debt is not valid and not even yours) to gain information.  This should be illegal! To boot, I received another call this a.m. on my cell phone from them.  I will not call them back, and have reported them to my phone company and federal authorities.  The only way companies like this are going to stop is to have a strict penalty imposed on them! If this would have been a valid debt, they may find that it would have been easier to be friendly to the person they are calling and not harass the individual to the point of making them so upset that they just hang up.  If this company receives a comission on their accounts from the holder, it must not be very successful! However, their phone bills must be outrageous continually calling the incorrect party repeatedly or harrassing an individual who is doing their best and willing to resolve their debt honestly.   They need customer service skills to deal with people!  Oh, that's right.... According to "Doug" they do not need "customer service skills, they are a collection agency."

Hang up on them. Don't give them the time of day. Criminals like these should not be encouraged.

Googled their "address and found myself here, after receiving a letter in the post.

I am going to send it back marked refused (as i do with all cr@p i get sent-junk mail has gone down by 80%), the USPS will return it as it is marked "change service requested" and this company whoever they are will have to pay for the return postage. Shame.

Refuse their mail ( I would advise people looking up how/why to refuse their mail) and "return to sender" as the song says.
Hang up or tell them not to call your phone EVER AGAIN (if you are getting calls), if they don't stop i normally tell them that my next call is to the local police or Attorney General's office to report them for harassment.

Failing that (AND I HAVE NO IDEA TO THE LEGALITY OF THIS) buy a whistle.... lol.

Tiburón is Spanish for shark.  Seems appropriate.  
I did not get a call, I received a letter (debt is at least 9 years old by now).
What's strange is the PO Box in Wixom MI that has been mentioned in this thread is also on the letter that was mailed to me, except for the letter says that they are Portfolio Recovery Associates, www.portfoliorecovery.com, and these guys do not list the PO Box in Wixom MI on their website.  
I don't know if Tiburon and Portfolio are related or not, they might be from the looks of it.

Write to your local consumer advocate or nebraska GOV and complain, then report to local television broad casting channels ! Get them fired~ Get them to clean up and change their terrorist tacktics.
They don't even care if you don't owe a dime they still go after you.

Caller ID said 402-342-4543 person said he was Chris Voss left a message to call 888-339-6750. Did not call back but obviously a collection agency

they get this information from Skip Tracing, they can even find your neighbors, your families neighbors. etc.

Tell them you need them to present original signature on the credit card application. If they can only present a copy, then under the new law, you don't owe that bill.
So don't let anyone push you guys around!!!!!

I have received a call from Tiberon Financial.  I have not called back nor will I after reading comments
from other people.  I did report them to the Federal Trade Commission/Identity Theft Division.

The fact that they use multiple return addresses, is an indication of their illegitimacy.
This company is in no way associated with, Zenith Corporation.
This is one of many companies, who buy lists of previous debts that have become stagnant.
They are attempting to collect money from anyone who will respond to their request.
If you receive mail from them, you may, or may not have had a previously uncollected debt.
They unscrupulously will send mail to thousands of addresses and names, hoping that someone
will take the bait.  The business is operating under loopholes in legality. They typically will choose to
use a name that sounds familiar or official.
if you actually do have an unpaid debt, contact the original place that you owed the debt too, and determine if a settlement with them is necessary.

I got a letter using the PO Box 1022, Wixon, MI 48393. It was addressed to someone I dont even know, and I do not believe this person has ever lived at my address. This seems like a scam to me. The company name was listed as CTCOMM01

actually - NO collection agency, or any entity for that matter, can collect a debt that is past the statute of limitations. In KY, if the debt is over 7 yrs old, they're [***] out of luck and the debt is entirely "uncollectable". If you send them a letter, make it registered so you have a receipt - in the letter tell them to quit calling you. If you do so, they have, by law, abide by your wishes. If they keep calling after that, you can sue their pants off.
