Just got the recorded call. They claim to be wanting to make a refund since the company has gone out of business. On another site, somebody reported they are from Microsoft and wanting to refund money from a technical assistance call. In other words, THIS IS A SCAM. They are looking for personal information like: you name, address, account numbers (supposedly to return the refund), etc. My advice is NOT to call this number at all.

"Microsoft Technical Support" wanting to "refund money" because they are "going out of business." Seriously, does anyone pay Microsoft for technical support??

Scam. Said I had paid for Microsoft support in the last 6 months and I hadn't. Said the business was being closed but didn't say what business.

Called and left no message.  But checked on another site and this is what the site said: It is KATHY JACKSON I am calling you from Microsoft's refund Department please do not hang up you have paid for your computer technical support few months ago we are calling to refund your money as the company has been ordered to close down please call our toll free number 8 tape 840291822 get your refund repeating again 888-4029 wanted to thank you. As if somebody is going to shut down Microsoft.

Same message, microsoft closing ? Number is similar  to debt collector scam call i've received twice now !

Wanted to refund money as company was ordered to shut down.

I've gotten several calls from this number giving the same rhetoric as the previous comments.  Don't answer calls where I don't recognize the number.  Am registered on the Do Not Call list, but it doesn't seem to do any good as I still get these unwanted calls!

Received the same call. I’ve never asked for computer technical support, so this is obviously a scam.

Computer "refund SCAM"  again - just a new number.

Same as above. I did call them back just to give them hell. The guy with an Indian accent said he was with Microsoft Technical Support. Told him I know and he knows he is a liar and this is just another BS refund scam and just another different number. Told him he needs to get a real job, some morals and integrity and to stop trying to scam people. He hung up.

Just listened to voicemail from this number. Roboticish female voice said I'd paid for technical report 6 months ago and company has now been ordered to refund my money as it is going out of business. Also gave same phone number to call back in, at times halting voice.

Same as above.  I reported to national DO NOT CALL registry.  If enough people report, they will sue the company and end these calls.
