- MindyGot the message from Jordan this morning. Pressed one to speak to someone as I am curious what this is. I paid off all my debt 6 months ago and monitor my credit report so I was surprised to receive such a phone call. And the message told me the number I have called is not set up to receive Incoming phone calls. HMMMMMMMM seems a but suspect.
- wfweemsjordan michaels has called several times with threats of legal actions if I did not forward payments toward student loans which
were paid in full in 1992.- Caller: jordan michaels
- Call type: Debt collector
- Curt replies to Annoyed4UThey just did the same thing to me. They didn't say their company name and then threatened to take legal action against me. I have NO outstanding bills and have never been late on anything. Total scammers.
- Ronda ManserI get this crap all the time.. How do we stop it?

- IDK| 1 replyHe says "This is Jordan Michaels calling from EAS. We are calling about an extremely delinquent matter that is being handled in our office. Please call 888-438-7301 This is a final message ....we have made every attempt to resolve this matter.
- Caller: Jordan Michaels
- Call type: Debt collector
- BigA replies to IDKWell, I doubt they will follow the law which says this:
It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it. You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

You have not mailed me a letter with a postmark and a stamp, containing enough information in it for me to identify you and the debt. You're going to have to figure out how to do that, yourself. If you can't find the address, just mail it to the address associated with my phone number - easy to find on the internet. If you call back here, I'll block your numbers."
That's all this swindler needs to hear from anyone on the phone. If their problem is not in writing, there's nothing I can do about it. - B-Edwards replies to TaylorGood post! Jordon only makes attempts at being a thieving crook. He is not in the resolution business.

- Unhappy RecipientHad the same experience from a caller called Jordan Michaels and said they were EAN.
- NANCE| 1 replyThey called my job and left a message to call them back about an debt issue. I never use my work telephone number for any personal purposes. It was a gentlemen name mark asking me or my attorney to call him back. I find it odd that i have no letters or calls from them (on my cell or house) but they call my job demanding i call them to resolve a "debt issue". Now that i'm looking at this i'm going to do more research and see if i can get an address or something.
- Caller: EAS/ MARK
- Call type: Debt collector
- BigA replies to NANCEAn address would help us track these crooks down. They call your work to create embarrassment to soften you up before you call them back. Then they really pour on the lies in order to extort money from you.
- ACSpecialtiesOur office Caller ID showed this phone number and said the caller was EAS. A pre-recorded message said the call was regarding a delinquent matter and we should call the same phone number. I wasn't born yesterday.
- Caller: EAS
- quodlibet replies to UpsetI've had 3 calls from this number----and they're threatening. I've ignored them but I'm tired of them. Scam? Or are they a credit agency calling the business who had this phone number before me a couple of years ago?
