- Guytano Parks| 6 repliesI assigned the "NO RING" option to this phone # (I only have a cell phone). They (Progressive Financial) ERRONEOUSLY/ANNOYINGLY called, so now with the "no ring" assignment to their # (888-441-5024) I have gotten rid of the annoyance!
- Caller: Progressive Financial
- Call type: Unwanted
- PAININTHEAZZ| 1 replyTHANKS FOR THE "NO RING" IDEA. HOWEVER THESE [***] ALSO CALL WITH AN "UNKNOWN" ID. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
- Call type: Debt collector
- Guytano Parks| 4 repliesGo to your cell phone's SETTINGS MENU and assign "NO RING" to UNKNOWN CALLER and/or NO CALLER ID. I also added this phrase to my voice mail greeting: "...this phone does NOT ring for CALLER ID BLOCKED NUMBERS. Please hang up, press *82 (to SHOW CALLER ID) and re-enter my number." For those who are not trying to be DECEPTIVE, they'll call back or leave a message...OTHERWISE, WHO NEEDS THEM?!!!
- HelgaWe have had several phone messages reportedly from "Progressive Financial Services", a collection agency, asking for a household member by first and last name, but the calls are not for OUR household member by that name. We know that there are at least 5 people in this metropolitan area with the same first/last name because we are the only ones listed in the public phone book so get frequent calls for the others. Thanks to all who responded with suggestions on how to try to block these nuisance calls.

- tj replies to Guytano Parks| 3 repliesthey are a collection agency that collects for defaulted payday loans. no real way to get around the calls good luck
- Backatcha replies to tj| 2 repliesGood luck trying to call.
- Renee in SC| 1 replyThis is an automated collection system that gives us a wake up call at 8:30 am every morning! They are calling a woman who once rented a house we now own. I called them back at 8:33 am this morning to "have my say" but no one seems to be there. Most likely there is a time zone difference and they're all still at home in bed asleep. Imagine that!
I left a voicemail as well as emailed both collections and management @progressivefinancial.com requesting removal of my information from their records. We'll see what happens.- Caller: PROGRESSIVE FINANCIAL
- Call type: Debt collector
- jaycee24 replies to Backatcha| 1 replyI tried calling them (Progressive Financial Services) back because they are trying to contact someone not at my number and can never get a live person so that I can get off their calling list. I'm always routed to an agents voicemail. So annoying.
- jaycee24 replies to Renee in SCWere you successful at removing your number from their call list?
- jaycee24| 1 replyHas anyone actually talked to anyone from this company?? I've been trying to get a live body for months!
- Caller: Progressive Financial Services
- Call type: Debt collector
- Gayle replies to jaycee24I called this number 8888-441-5024 to say this isn't the person they are trying to contact but they won't take me off their list until I tell them who I am, the relationship to the person they are trying to reach, etc.
The telephone company says there is nothing they can do about these calls and unfortunately unless I give them my information there is nothing I can do. - CW| 1 replyHave received these calls for about a month now. Pre-recorded message calls for someone not at this address and by staying on the line indicates you are the person they are calling. They give you a number to call if you are not (have not called). I did listen to answering machine long enough to get a name "Kathlene Brooks" from the debit collection department, but other calls have been a man.
Your information in the other complaints on this site have been a very big help to let me know they will not respond if I call them and what type of company they are.
Thank you,
CW- Caller: Progressive Finance

- noneThese no life's call my job everyday and leave a generic message "if you are not the person please hang up" on our voicemail. I was thinking how would I know if I am or not when you leave no name of who they want to reach.
- Call type: Debt collector
- tomatoThey called our house looking for my husband's ex (a psycho who ran him into debt before he booted her to the curb). I called them to let them know they were barking up the wrong tree and was on hold for upwards of 30 minutes. I put the phone on speaker and went about my business till a surly guy got on. I politely told him who she was and to remove our phone number from her account info - we shall see if it works.

- MichelleThis number calls my job at least 3 times a week (without ringing) and leaves a message on our Voicemail from "Robert Lucas". Never says who he is looking for. I called the number back and spoke to a guy who said "Robert Lucas" was not real and was just automated. I told him that this is a business with over 50 people working here. To be a collector he was nice but stupid because he said there was nothing he could do.
- JThis is a scam. There's no way it is legit. I received the same automated message everyone else has reported. They claim to be a debt collector from Progressive Finance. However a simple reverse phone number search shows that the number they are calling from is registered to Thames Commercial Tire in Ontario Canada!
- Caller: "Progressive Financial"
- JoThis is BS ... These people have repeatedly called a relative of mine that I have never used as any kind of connection to me. I wonder how they got the information of my relative. My relative has an unlisted number, so how did this company get their number in connection to me? I have kept in contact with the debt companies that I owe, so who is this company and what do they want? Not only that, they are giving false information or have false information about me. I'm going to be pissed if it's not me they're looking for because my last name is very common!

- Zen Relaxor replies to CWBest response is to call this 888 number from a pay phone, especially after hours. Leave a name like " Bob Johnson" and ask them to return the call. If they get hundreds of calls, it (1) costs them a buck or so (2) they have to waste their finite time looking for nonexistent calls. The 888 number is a "trap line", no call block will keep them from calling you back. Most pay phones, however, will not let them call back. You may not stop them from harassing you specifically but at least you will be burning their finite time and resources.
- mary replies to jaycee24yes i have. if they will harass you at work also
