- demans replies to InDebt2012Oh, sorry JP Recovery! Didn't know that you had the time to go to all of these "who called" BBS and harass people. Don't you have better things to do like foreclose on a widow's house loan?

Hey Indebt 2012,, FYI, I get a call from this number over the same bill all the time. I used to talk to them, but now I just make a record of the call in a little notebook
Back when I was willing to talk to them, they wanted to collect a bill from about 8 years ago. I spoke to them kindly, asked them to either fax or mail me something, that no way would I just pay a bill without something to look at to verify that I owed it. They wouldn't do it. they said I had to pay now.. RIGHT NOW.
Finally, I got a little info out of them and it was enough for me to call The Cleveland Clinic and ask about the bill. They said, I paid it. Their own records show I paid it. So they faxed me the paid invoice receipt. I was able to track down the check I wrote for it.. amounts and dates all matched up.
So the next time this company called me, I asked them for their fax number so I could show them that I had proof the bill was paid.
They would not give me a fax number,, they only said I had to pay it now or they would send the police after me..
So I verified they had my correct address and told them to go ahead, send the cops down. I know them all in Aurora as well as the Mayor and the Law Director. I knew this would be fun if they ever did it
So wise ass, you tell me what to do...- Caller: JP Recovery Slugs
- maeYes, It is JP Recovery. They are relentless. They call my house phone, my cell phone several times a day, from all sorts of numbers. I just program each number in my phone and shoot it over to voice mail. Check this out. I disputed a charge for a pregnancy test that showed up on a bill from the Cleveland Clinic prior to my surgery. Why you ask... well let's see...why the heck would I pay for it, when I am 54 years old, and there isn't a snowballs chance in hell that I could be pregnant. Hmmmm, can you say padding a bill. If my 95 year old grandmother has surgery will they give her a pregnancy test too! These people are whacked if they think they are getting a dime out of me. JP Recovery.....cease and desist!!!!!

- pam replies to InDebt2012medical bills can not be sent to collecter they are sold you owe these people nothinbg
- A Friend replies to MichiganDon't ever talk to any of these people - they are a call center employee at a collector agency, and they don't care what your story is. They get paid to make a certain number of calls per day, and they get more if you actually pay them, but they are not interested in working out a solution. Their intent is to intimidate you into paying them and they will say anything to put pressure on you.
Sounds like you might want to consult an attorney about bankruptcy - often merely announcing your intent to file by way of a letter from an attorney on his or her letter-head is enough to get them to leave you alone. If you think they are violating the fair credit collections act, the attorney can help you file a complaint and considering your circumstances you can probably get this done at little or no expense. You should not be putting up with the stress of dealing with a collection agency that is chiefly concerned with getting money from you and one that will use unlawful tactics to press you into paying. DO NOT ENTER INTO ANY SETTLEMENT WITH THAT AGENCY until you consult a lawyer.
You also might want to consider filing with the local Department of Human Services - they can help you without costing a dime. - DeAndre ClemonsThey keep calling not leaving a message when you call back they recording come all lines are busy with other customers please hold.

- Neiles replies to InDebt2012Once a bill reaches a certain point your state has this thing to where it shouldn't go on your credit report and they can't make you pay it. They might say they can but they can't. I understand what you mean and it seems you have good morals but that's the way it is. I think in the state of mi it's 7 or 6 years but I could be wrong.

- ytScam.
- RachealThey are JP Recovery Systems. They buy old (very old) debt's from hospital collection agency's. These people harassed me too, only to discover the debt they were calling about was like 10 years old from when I was 19 and had kidney surgery!! They buy these debts very cheap and then have their agents call you, I'm sorry hound you for the old debt. The thing is, they cannot take further action other than calling because this debt has already been "written off" by the original creditor. Do not send these people a dime.

- KenI've gotten calls yesterday and today on my cell from this number, it's a computer voice interface which does not identify the calling entity, just asks if I'm "Michael Lloyd Masser", with supposed "press-a-number-for-..." options. Yesterday I just hung up, today I tried option 4 to talk to "an agent". The number simply disconnected, no agent, nothing.
I know no one by that name, and I can guarantee that whomever it is, they could not have had this number anytime in the last 10-12 years or so, since I've had this number for at least that long.- Caller: computer voice interface did not identify
