I found this page, then logged in to VM...after getting calls the last 3 days.
My phone apparently still works...but my balance is askew (automatic top-up may not be working).
    What a HASSLE!

Yes, I have the problem with automatic top up not working.  First time in July when I was on a long road trip.  They said it was fixed.  Then again in August, and then a week later I got a Virgin Alert that today was the last day to top it up!!  I have complained several times, including sending a formal complaint to their website. 16 days later they answered it, saying everything on my account was fine!

3rd call in 3 days. Did not answer, they left no message. I too have a Virgin Mobile phone & no one has the number outside of family. VM did send me an email telling me my phone no longer works because I have to Top Up which was BS. Odd that they're harrassing their own customers.

8884652401.. Same here.  It's like someone just got a hold of a new phone list to spam people.  They've been calling once a day for the past 2 weeks.  I haven't answered.

I just got this call on our Virgin Mobile.  Didn't answer it & didn't answer it yesterday when they called.  I told the hubby I bet there are other people on the internet complaining about it too.

The other morning Vonage set off our message waiting light on our phones & I finally figured out that.  We are not set up to let them take our voice messages so lucky I logged into our account.  Listened to it & I'm not happy with either Vonage or Virgin Mobile.

Have received these calls also and just don't answer.  Virgin Mobile benefits from these calls by selling more minutes to people who respond by answering!  Just don't answer.  Any other recourse?

Shouldn't this be illegal? Calling your pay as you go customers in order to get them to lose minutes?

Rarely turn on the cell (Virgin Mobile), but yesterday received a call from this number which I did not answer.  Turns out we received (and missed) this call three days in a row.  Today we got a "robocall" to our home phone from VM giving us a reminder about a change in "top-up" procedures. So the call from the 888 number was VM's attempt to deliver that message to the cell.  I am not sure, but I am pretty sure they do not charge against your minutes, when they call you in this way.  Rather, it is a free call.

It is an automated message from Virgin Mobile telling you that you will no longer be able to top up via your phone. You have to go online or call or have it automatically topped up by your credit card.

the incoming caller ID showed "Toll Free Number" as the caller's name. This is a sure fire sign that this is a criminal organization trying to get your personal identity data or credit card numbers.

I use AT&T landline and have an unlisted number.
