Western is a known criminal enterprise pretending to be a debt collector.  Read my other post for more information.

My mother just got a call from a "Western Union" or "Western United" saying that she had a loan for $300 in 2009 and they had tried to collect it from her in 2011 but she's never taken out a loan for anything. They had told her they want a $450 settlement and she needs to contact Kingston Marketing. Sounds awfully fishy to me.

I just got a call saying I had a payday loan in 2012 for 400$, they have banking, e mail address etc. if I had rec'd a payday loan they would have had a post dated check to deposit, I never applied nor got a loan from anyone. The "mediation" people are telling me to check with my bank, umm I know I did not get a loan!

According to my states dept of business regulation : you should ignore them unless they contact you in writing by mail.
They would then be liable under postal code if they are fakes.
Also she said legitimate lenders do not operate this way ( over the phone).
She said that until they write to you by mail,you should just ignore them or file a complaint with the consumer finance protection bureau,which is a Federal agency.
Then you'll just have to wait to hear back.
If you file a complaint : try to have as much complete info as possible on hand to give them for them to know what to do and how to proceed.
They will proceed if you give them complete info.

Milo I'm doing just that I told these people I want something in writing. The guy I talked to was very rude. He kept talking over me. I told him he was doing exactly what scammers do they interrupt the consumer then he called me a scammer got really mad and hung up on me. Well the last person I talked to I told I want it in writing.

I get it 5 times a day and all the numbers online dont work

Kingston Marketing deposited a check into my account for $2500 and it got flagged. They even changed the address in my bank account somehow. Anyways, so now they're trying to say that I owe them that money and trying to take me to court. And that was in 2012.

did receive a call from robert reed from johnson smith and associates stating I owe $480.00 plus over $700.00 in penalties.

I decided to google this marketing place cause we had got phone call also stating my husband owed amount and such we were both very lost and confused and was told if he didn't pay he would be going jail and court

Watch out for this number this is one called my husband stating he had pay 500 today or he would be wanted and sent to court paying over 1500

Well, it wouldn't be "unknown" if you had read the other posts.  It really is amazing what you can learn by simply reading.

I got a phone call yesterday in regards to the same thing. Said i owed $937.50. They also said the funds were deposited to an account at a Washington Mutual Bank. Never heard of the company or the bank. Told them id take my chances in court. Its a scam. If a company is going to sue you, they aren’t going to call you and tell you.
