a woman named "Tracy" called from this number and asked for my brother.  They claimed they had a job offer for him and wanted his conatact info.  I was suspicious and asked who she worked for and she replied "S&L Marketing".  I did not give her any info.

I got a call from a lady name Tracy and she told me that an old employer hired them to find old employees that have money in dormant and needed my info to send a check.  she called today and told me that the check was returned and she verified my address and said that she will have the check sent back out and should received 7-10 business days.  I am not sure what these people want.

I received a call from this number and the lady said that my checking was posted on a public website and that she needed to put a block on the account in order for me not to receive fradulant charges. I told her that I don't use a Checking account with checks and that I don't use the name that she was going b, because I was married she asked me my new last name and she also asked for my birthdate which i didn't provide.

I received a call in my cellphone from this number (8885551234) at 10:54 AM EST, a lady asked for my first name and advised that my checking account and address have been posted in a public computer... When I asked which company does she represents her answer was a name that was not familiar to me, I asked who published my information and the answered "they published that information in a public computer..." I requested to speak with a supervisor, she said that she was on charge of the call, I asked if the call was recorded she said "no, this call is not been recorded", I asked how did she knew that my information was published she answered "we monitor all the computers" (?). After that answer I asked more questions about the source of information she had and then she hanged up the call.

I just got a call from this number as well stating that my bank account info was listed on a public computer.  I asked where they were calling from and they stated Nationwide Verification Services.  They started to tell me my address and I cut them off stating that I'm not going to verify anything until I can verify where they are calling from.  The guy hung up halfway through my address.  I tried to call the number back but it states that the call cannot be completed as dialed.  
I checked online and there is no such business named Nationwide Verification Services and the number brought me back to this site.  Don't give them anything!!  They are trying to steal your bank info!!

This number called 4 times today, didn't leave a message any of times. They called back this afternoon when I was home from work and this guy said Thomas get your check book there's been a mistake. I said there's nothing wrong with my check book and he hung up.

This number has called 4-5 times with no one to talk and finally I get to talk to a guy today. He was telling me that he is the manager at my bank accout and he stated there is slight problem in my bank account. He then asked if I can read my route and account number from my check book. I then asked who the hell are you to ask me all this...then he HANG UP the phone.

Please BE AWARE!!!!!

wont answer checked it out online first all your post helped me know this was another scam.How do these people get hold of cell phone numbers?I gotten at least ten calls I just let it ring.

Just got the call again and answered this time gave the man a few seconds to do his song and dance about my name being on this "list" told him I googled his numbered and knew he was a scammer too sounded like he said a curse word at me then hung up tried calling the number back to finish giving these people a piece of my mind and guess what you cant call them back and harass them.

I got a call from this number 8885551234, and they said on 11/04/09 @9:20am. I believe I gave them too much information. Therefore, Please
stop this crap from happening to people, and stop this fraud.

I got a call today by a lady asking for my checking account number because it needed to be cancelled.  I told her I would not give it to her and she hung up.

I called the police they said unless it was a local call they have no jurisdiction

I just finally picked up this phone call after they called 4 other times throughout the day,starting this morning.  It showed up on caller ID as "not provided", nothing new in this day & age we're living in. What got me so upset was that I just called my bank today about a scam on the internet by a company called "Mineral Elements" by Eden, where they charged me $130.41.  The man who was on the other end said, "you gave your SS# or bank card over the internet & he was investigating fraudulant charges, so get my checkbook and read him all the numbers (routing and account #'s) on the bottom.  When I asked who his company was he said something about National something.  When I resisted and asked why, he said," whenever you write a check at the grocery store or anywhere else, you are giving that person the info when you write a check".  He said several times that this call was being recorded & didn't really like it when I said, "good"  I then told him I was nervous about giving him the info until I speak to my husband, and asked if he could call back, he hung up.  Between all the calls from magazine people (also scams looking for info, 100's of those calls,even after going to "Do Not Call.Gov.?) I'm ready to pay the $100.00 bucks to the phone company just so the calls will stop,or will they? This is becoming a scary world we live in- it's sad isn't it?  Good Luck

I also received a call on my cell on Nov 5th at 2:48pm, and finally answered it after having received about 4 of them and getting tired of it. They stated they were also from Nationwide Verification Services and that my Checking Account number had somehow surfaced in their systems. In order to take it out they wanted me to get my checkbook to verify my account information (please??). I told him I don't think so, and he immediately hung up on me! Since then I'm also getting other calls for winning millions of dollars...wow! Don't know what's going on right now, but Be Careful!!!!

Received a call this morning from a man with a middle eastern accent claiming my bank account information was mistakenly placed on a public site and was vulnerable to hackers.  He told me to get my checkbook so that I could verify my routing information and account number.  I asked him what company he was calling from and he stated "Pop lite"?  I couldn't really understand him.  I told him I would not give him my information and I also told him if he could verify the name of my bank I might talk to him.  He stated he was looking at my information but that I had the verify the information not him.  I told him I didn't know him and I wasn't telling him anything.  He hung up.

Caller claimed to be from Publisher's Clearing House, that we had won 1.5 million. Yeah, right! I was told to call 1-876-426-4572 for UPS. I kept asking (acted like I was hard of hearing) what company the woman was calling from and she kept rambling on about me going to Western Union to wire money, that a FedEx truck was going to arrive at my home within a 1/2 hour with a check. She even asked if we wanted to be on camera, that the camera crew would arrive with the truck. Ha! Was I born yesterday??? I was told to send the money via Western Union to "Nadia Baker Kingston Jamaica WIAW". They're still calling every day or two...

my mom got a call from this number,the guy didnt say his name. he proceeded to tell us that our personal info showed up on a web site. he wanted to know the routing number from her checking acct. when i told him i wouldnt give him any info. i hung up on him.he called back and called me a stupid [***] [***], and that he was going to come down and piss in my neck. so i told him to bring his pencil dick on over. he hung up!

have been getting calls from John Richmon for about a week, said I had won$2.5 million--just needed to send money order for $159.99 to Mr
Philip Manire in Woodstock, GA--stupid, but I did this twice, then mr George Anderson called, said he was in charge of my money with Fed EX, but needed $650.00 fir delivery--I refused, asked them to stop calling--their numbers were202-239-6620 and 206-259-6878-  NOW, tonight I get a call from a man saying he was with Nation Wide Verification00wanted my account #--I refused and he said someone was trying to get into my Bank Account--CATCH THE SORRY [***]

I am getting calls from this number also. They keep asking for a person that is not me............I asked nicely that they do not call this number again. THEN I GET AT LEAST 5 MORE CALLS. Think the next call I will just act like I am total nut case. I called the number back and it seems to go nowhere just rings and rings.Someone has got to stop it NOW!

Our bank has received a report that the phishing for account information appears to be going on again from this (faked) number.  We received a report on it today, 01/20/10.
