- PISSED OFFWith this economy people are trying everything to scam people. I've gotten this call 10 times a day. Always claiming to be my bank. They've switched it up now. instead of the normal jamacan man or lady claiming to be my bank, they now have what i'm asuming to be a caucation women claiming to be national security. and needs my name b-day routing information ect to REMOVE my info from whom ever stole it. THIS [***] ACTUALLY FAUGHT WITH ME when i informed her that i've already reported this to the sheriff's. she goes "how dare you make such a statement, i'm going to leave ur infomation on there, so when i call you next week you'll see that u've had idenity theft" ALWAYS REMEMBER DO NOT EVER GIVE OUT YOUR PERSONAL INFO!!!!
- joshI got a call claiming my bank account information was mistakenly placed on a public site and was vulnerable to hackers. He told me to get my checkbook so that I could verify my routing information and account number. I didn’t give him any information and took some time to look a few things up.
1. The FCC is the one that oversee all toll-free numbers, so any complaints would be sent to them.
2. Toll-free numbers have no graphical location.
3. Calls to any toll free number may be restricted by the customer.
4. I got most of my information from http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/consumerfacts/tollfree.html
Lastly I talked to a friend that I have that works at a bank, he said that if there was activity of that type that the bank would find it and be the ones to contact you, not some other company.
Go to the website that I have, it tells you how to leave a complaint that the FCC will take seriously.

If you have read this message, and had a phone call similar to what I have, you need to, and should, leave a complaint for the FCC so that this group of people can't take advantage of anyone else! - MoA woman called and said they wanted to take my checking account out of there system and to have my check book with me. I said I do not need my check book with me and that I know my account number, then she hung up on me. Of course she thought that I may give her my account number.I called back and it said the number or code you dialed is incorrect.
- not getting itman calls and asks for me by first name. says someone is trying to acsess your checking acount. i need the routing number to stop it and take you name off the public list. - Jose OsvaldoI received several calls since last week and finally I picked up some minutes ago. Theys claim to be calling from a Fraud Protection organization and told me that my checking account was compromised, I asked "which one?" and the lady said all of them in Florida.... So I asked her that they should stop this SCAM and hanged the call. on the other hand, which serious organization can have the caller ID with such number?
- Caller: Fraud Protection
- SueI keep getting calls related to this scam. Once the scammer calls a victim, they then call my number back asking for information. The problem is that my number is xxx-888-5551 (where xxx is my local exchange). Somehow when the dial back occurs, it inserts the xxx, then the last 7 digits, which in turn is my phone number. I am not the scammer and have no intention on asking confidential information. Please ensure that when you try to dial back the person, you are using the correct dial back number. It is 888-555-1234, not xxx-888-5551.

- JanGot a phone call today from a person claiming they were from Nationwide, tell number 1-888-555-1235, wanting to take my name off all the lists for advertising. She started asking me questions about where I bank and asked me to get a paper, pencil and checkbook to get my routing number. I told her she didn't need any of that kind of information. At that point she was yelling at me that if I didn't give her the information then they would leave my name on all of the lists. At that point I told her to quit yelling at me and hung up.
