Just received a call this morning and asked for their phone number and company name and the operators name. They gave all to me comfortably. I looked up the number here and found these posts. Thank you for the information. Scam...beware!

Received a call this morning, calling from Gladstone Michigan-possibly from a cell phone- strong accent

asked for my credit card number, after he'd rattled off my name, address and phone #, and he suggested that I owe more than 3000 and was paying over 6% interest.

I got suspicious because of his accent, insistance, and refusal to answer questions exept in the order he gave them.

I asked for a number to call him back and it was this one.

    THANKS

Got a call today at 1:25 pm and the guy was also very pushy and adamant about his credibility. Asked for my expiration date and wanted my credit card number. I gave him the date but not the card number. He told me he would be able to tell me what is exactly on my statement IF I gave him the card number and THAT was how he was going to prove he was legitimate. When I said, "give me a moment to get the statement" he became very rude,  aggressive and hostile and said, "Ma'am! I DO NOT NEED THE STATEMENT I HAVE THE STATEMENT I NEED THE CARD NUMBER."  I asked him how would I know he was telling the truth if I didn't have the statement? He then tried to feebly apologize. It was at that point that I decided to do more checking. I put the number he gave me which was 888 577-7963 into Google and found this site thankfully. They called me back 3 times after I initially hung up trying to get my credit card number. the numbers they called from are: 310 388-6861 twice and 406 931-3244 initially. BEWARE!! I told them that there were reports they are a fraudulant company and all they said was, "Fraudulant? who what is fraudulant? where does it say that?" I told them on the internet. All they did was glass over it and keep trying to fish for information. I finally hung up.

8:45am Rec'd call from 1-406-931-3244 per Caller ID -- Quite an accent in male voice stating he's calling re: reducing credit card rate -- Told him I wanted to speak to someone from my own country -- blah blah repeated himself more slowly -- Told him I wanted to speak to someone without strong accent/my own country -- He then says he's from Orlando -- Told him it didn't sound like that/not trusting with todays ID theft and scams -- blah blah -- I asked for his ID... He said he couldn't give me his ID but would give me his name, phone and extension (Thomas Maguire 1-888-577-7963 X271) -- Told him to hold on, that I wanted to check something or check it out -- Called the given no. from my cell ph. -- " a rep. will be with you shortly" then music (no company name) -- Got back to the guy and said it was taking longer than I expected -- Listening to music continuously on cell -- Got back to "Thomas" and asked "by the way, what does that number go" -- He repeats the phone no. -- Told him I've got that/he already gave it to me, but if the no. is legit, normally there is a name of a company -- after repeating I wanted to know who the no. belongs to/what's the co. name, he told me Financial Advising Services.  I was on hold with music on my cell ph. (periodically saying hello -- with no response and sounding like an open line on the reg. ph.) 'til the cell disconnected and want back to the main screen.  Then I said hello for a while longer 'til it sounded like the reg. ph. disconnected, and hung up that phone.  After getting a credit card from my wallet, and checking the Caller ID on the phone, I called the credit card company -- Final result = sounds as if it was fraudulous and was informed I could contact the BBB and go from there -- ended up at this website.  Just a reminder, DON'T GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION -- Check out the caller first!

To Doug (from Doug to Jerry)  Report it to BBB and your credit card company -- Get a new card with a new no. and destroy the old one -- Also, contact Equifax, etc.

So is this actually a scam?  Are they stealing credit card numbers and using them?  Or is it just a debt consolidation company?  I don't want to use them, but there's a big difference between the two.

I got a call from them that they could get me lower rates on my credit cards and I went ahead with it and all was going  well until they wanted me to talk to a certain Bank which I did not want to, so I wanted to back out and they got very nasty and they are going to  send a debt collector out  to collect $974 fee from me  which I understood was reversible but now it's not. I will take your advice and cancel all my cards and call the BBB bureau.

I wish I had been as smart as you. Those were the same facts they gave me, save $3000 and get credit card rates reduced to 6% but I got hooked and now I am in trouble.

Very Sly ... you know if they are pushy, can't or wont give you any info to put you at ease, IT'S GOTTA BE A SCAM!!
Rec'd a call just now, silence at first, then a recording about lowering your interest rate.  press 1 for connect w/an agent that can help you or press 2 to Stop Recvg Calls.  I pressed 2 & still got a rep...SCAM.
I went along for a bit, yes he asked me to complete my credit card # - he had the first 7 digits. Sure, he had the rest of the # - He said [Sure].   So, at one point I said "give me the last 2 digits of the card #", If he had that then I felt he prob did have the rest - BUT HE WOULDN"T.
Now he says HE's not sure I am the card holder.  VERY Clever.  They have all of the answers, know how to reply.  Be VERY CAREFULL.  When I asked for the phone # he said if I hang up know I will not be able to receive the reduced interest rate.   -  Yes, They Know All the Right Responses to hook you.
    Just Hang UP!!!!

This is the # he gave me 888-577-7963.  Financial Advising services is how they answer.

I also just got a call from this number.  It showed as unknown caller, recorded message, and press 1 to lower your interest rates.  I asked the guy several times what company he worked for.  He couldn't give me a straight answer.  I asked for his name and phone number.  1-888-577-7963 ext 265 his name was Jack.  I then told him that all over the internet there is information about this being a scam.  He said it wasn't and I then said I'll call you back.

I called the number back and got what I beleive is a receptionist.  I told her I wanted to know why I was called.  Same story, we've been in business for 15 years and have been successful in lowering interest rates.  I asked what the name of the company was.  Link Solutions.  Then I asked do you have a website.  She said no.  I said all legitimate companies have a website these days.  She said, we've been successful for the last 15 years without one.  I told her I wasn't interested in their services.

We'll see if I get a call back.

Yeah, just got the same call this morning.  He asked the same questions and told me today was the last day this offer would be available.  I told him I didn't have my credit card with me at the moment and I'd have to call him back. He gave me his name, well a name, number and extension.  Not planning on calling back.

Don't be too concerned about your SSN.  There are databases that already have your complete SSN that anyone can buy.  A friend of mine is a skip tracer and he told me he could easily find my SSN.  So I asked him to e-mail it to me.  In 45 minutes he sent my complete SSN to my inbox!

So if he could do it, anyone could.  So don't worry about having given out the last 4 digits of your SSN.  If they wanted the entire number they could easily have it without your help!

Even my 10 year old daughter has her own web site!  Any company that doesn't have a web site is either crooked or living in the stone age.  Why should you do business with a company from the 19th Century?

I got the same call today, I spoke to Alex Taylor with a very heavy accent.  He told me that he was from visa/master card, when I asked him what bank he was from all he could say was that the banks work for them.  I spoke to him messing with him for about 5 mins before I told him that he didn't even know who he was talking to.  When he came back with my maiden name,I knew this was a scam, since  I have been married for year and I don't have cc with my maiden name on them.
