Have been receiving calls from this number for years now. Whenever they call and I don't answer, no message is left. It's always about a payday loan I defaulted on in 2011. Did not occur. Finally answered today's call and a gentleman assured me he would be mailing the court filings to me by end of week and that he will call again to verify I received them. Oy!

I received a voicemail from 888-584-1374.  The woman identified herself as Ariel stating she was calling me before sending someone to my residence to sign some papers regarding 2 felony allegations against my name and social security number.  I went online to look up the number and thankfully discovered this was a scam.

I received the same message from Justin Stevenson Identical to the one you received on Monday, April 13th.  Said he was serving me papers tomorrow, April 13th on my job (good luck getting past security) or my home (good luck getting past Rex, my German Shepherd).  Told  me to have 2 forms of id, put up pets, etc.  I have not seen or heard from him and no papers were served.

John Dean?  Wasn't he a character in the Nixon scandals of the 1970s?  Watergate and all that?  I thought he died.  These scammers ought to do their research before assuming their phony monikers.

Got a call today said she would be in town between 12 and 5. And to have 2 forms of id. To sign  some legal  papers. Or call that number  tomorrow  to cancel it
It really doesn't make any sense. So I looked up to see who this number  belongs to couldn't  find anything. I guess  I'll see if she shows up. She didn't even say what it was for.

Secretary of State of Florida lists several MS associates, LLC.  No idea if this company is one of them.

I called that 888-584-1374 number out of curiosity.  The lady that answered hesitated for aminute and then agreed that they were in Florida.  Wouldn't give me any other information.

I have gotten calls from a Brittany with this company stating that I owed a crazy large loan with a bank of America account in sep 2011. Anywho she states that the loan was 100 that quickly went up to 950 but could settle for 600.00 if I did so many payments. Then I call back another girl answers the phone I ask where are you located she states florida but hesitated to give me a city. Then transferred me to a manager who's name was marc Anthony he stated his company was ms associates and if you check under BBB accreditation its under flex something. didn't really find the business at all I ask them to send me a letter for the account I owed or even the original lenders name they never did its been about a week now. They told me about all these documents that they were going to send to my job but funny thing is the job they mentioned I haven't worked there in about 4 years. SCAMMMMMMMMM the number is 1888-584-1374

    These guys are scam artists.

Answered & received a pre-recorded message with instructions to 'press 1' at the end at which point I hung up.

Message identified themselves as MS Associates and said that they were attempting to legally serve (me) regarding 'mediation' and that (i) was the 'only respondent' ???

Legal sounding but nonsense. Message never says who they're trying to contact. They have no idea who is at the other end of the phone. Phone is under a family plan with someone else who doesn't live at this address or share my last name. Their address is a matter of easy access public record. My address is registered with USPS and hasn't changed in years. So serving legal papers in the usual way wouldn't be an issue.

This is a scam plain & simple. They're harvesting data from somewhere (likely old payday lending, banking or mobile phone accounts based on what I'm seeing online) and making ominous sounding claims about debts people don't actually owe or they aren't entitled to collect based on that data.

DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION THAT THEY DON'T ALREADY HAVE. If you're not convinced to ignore them or report them based on others' reports online, tell them you'll CONFIRM information but will not PROVIDE information. If they want your name, ask them who they're trying to reach. If they want the last 4 of your social, ask them to give you different sets of numbers and you'll confirm the correct one. If they want an address, ask them what address they have on file. An actual debt collector will have at least one recent address no older than 5-6 years. If they're cold calling in this manner, it's UP TO THEM to prove that they are who they claim to be, not the other way around.
