been through this too many times
They are scammers. If you've ever taken out a pay day loan, they've got your information. They will feed you a line of crap saying if you don't pay, you will have to pay court costs etc. I paid all my pay day loans when I had them and I got calls like this to the tune of 3 or 4 a week. They were very rude and told me that if I didn't pay them they would arrest me at work. I said go ahead after I actually figured it out. I never received any emails that they spoke of, or letters, nor could they tell me when they sent them, just that I got them. Neither was I ever arrested. I actually reported them to the local authorities and had the police contacting them.

They should be able to tell you what "payday" company you got alleged "loan" with. You can then check with them if you actually had an account. One of these companies, actually gave me a name of a Payday Company, I could be back to my bank statement and see that I had no payday loan with them and then looked that Payday loan company out on the internet and they actually had a huge notice on their site, regarding these "scams" stating that they would never do this. They contact their people who default and do not turn them over. I suggest you get a name of the company and check out the site yourself.

i too got a call from people telling me they would have me arrested for not paying but found out it was not National Recovery Service that this number is associated with the people that are calling are actually a scam who say they represent National Recovery Service. I spoke to a lady at this office and she gave me a number to contact number to a Detective Doug Zloto, he is with homeland security and is investigating the people that are claiming to be with National Recovery Service. So before you go off getting upset you need to ask yourself the questions i did, can they really have me put in jail? did i write a check for my payday loan? if this is all no than put the name of the collection agency into google and do a search on them, yes your going to see alot of people bash collection companies but think back did you take a loan out? if so call the place you took the loan out with and ask where they placed it, if you still think that you have been scammed contact Detective Zloto at  989-497-0580 he will be happy to help you, I am still working on getting my money back from the scammers, some call them Indians, but i believe they are a mix of people, with very strong accents with names like john white, you also need to look up the FDCPA laws, this too will help you get a leg up on talking to collection agencies. Im not saying all collection agencies will help you and not try to scare you but im just saying before you start putting things up about companies, check your facts, i didnt and i feel terrible, i said awful things about a place that was just doing thier job. and i lost over 1500.00 to the scammers, But after talking with the detective and seeing the different comments i now know it wasnt the National Recovery Service, but the scammers, seriously put Detective Doug Zloto into google and read all about it

calling you out. replies to BoothT
Actually, it's a comfortable office in which all required licenses and permits are posted and visible. It is a legitimately run business in a field created by dead beat "debtors" who incur past due debt and then look for any available loophole to avoid paying it.

LRD u need to read up on the FDCPA .. actually a collection agency can take legal action against the debtor, and they can advise you that if the account is not paid and will go to further collections and it can go to their legal department or attorney's office for legal review and at that point with will be up to the legal department/attorney's office to pursue it..

    Over all this fraud
Received a text msg from 909-366-5165 "Payment reminder. Your payment will be debited Friday, August 24, 2012. Call to Confirm. 888-622-0222." I applied for a payday loan online last year, now suddenly I receive all kinds of calls etc from companies that I never took loans from. I will certainly file a complaint with the FTC and the Attorney General today, as I've done with each of these fraudulent companies.

I have a question for anyone, I was told that I had this loan, which I do, I try to tell them I could not pay all of it, but I can send them a hundred at the end of each month, I was told their would accept it, that I would have to pay a 150 evey other week, I told them that it was not likely that I can do that, their said 150 a other week, or their will take the next step in collect the money, what to do, I don't make that much money to pay them a 150 every other week,

I know I'm not the best in spelling nut I hope some could help me

I get text messages from a different number and they leave this number to call back. The text said my scheduled payment was returned by my bank so to call the 800 number. I didn't call the number and I have no scheduled payments that should be coming out of my bank account. I have no payday loans either. So I believe they are scammers.
