I called this number back and talked to ?Caroline.  They are National Recovery System (NRS) their fax number is 785-242-2658 and their address is 416 S. Main, Ottawa, Ks. 66067 (according to Caroline). They are a recovery company for more than one payday loan company.  I am going through a settlememt company and she told me they will not comply and to call Mike Powell back.  I was very confused on what a debtor can and can't threaten you with (sometime it's hard to distinguish the cow pies from the bs), but print a copy of the Fair Credit Act from your State's Fair Trade Comissiom.  Keep it handy and know your rights.  Follow up on their abuse also-send cease and desist letters, mark down when they call, and contact the right authorities.

I received two phone calls but giving the same #. We were in debt up to our ears from borrowing just to pay back pay day loans. After $7,000 we said enough is enough. Made arrangements, I've been laid off since March. One of the Pay day loan co's said they were going to come to my house to demand the money. I complained to the parent company CFSA. Find out if your pay day loan company has a parent. http://www.cfsa.net/about_cfsa.html These people cover Advance America and Check N Go. You can also go here for help yes debt free dot org http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/advanceamerica-complaint.html

They appear to be consistent with debt collection procedures, the person who called is Rhonda she simply states that, 'they have received information which may be an oversight on your part' they give time frames in which to call.  In this message it says before 8pm Central Time (I think) then before 8 am, in the morning.  I don't recall as I deleted the message (as I usually do with these types of calls) here's my guideline I know who my callers are, if I see an # that says, Unknown (on cell phones it will show up that way) or home lines that don't have blocking, I simply won't answer! anything that says 800, 866, or anything else out of the ordinary gets my fabulous VM.  If you took out on a payday loan, they cannot intimidate you or force you to pay money you don't have, one word of warning though if they know your employment information and you are still there beware as they can also garnish your wage, so try to get some help from an outside agency or this could have the potential to become ugly otherwise.  But by all means do not commit to something you cannot pay back, if you cannot make ends meet now don't agree to anything with collections as they don't care and their job is to simply collect on the loan they have purchased.  check for legal help or agencies that specialize in resolving matters...if its ignored it can also backfire.  Go to: http://www.langhornelaw.com & check them out, they do not offer services in Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas,  South Carolina, Wisconsin and West Virginia.

They person who posted pay your bills at the beginning of this is not a person in distress could even be someone from the agency, a real consumer in trouble would offer help or suggestions, yes I agree everyone should pay their bills, but when in trouble seek help.

Please post and let me know if this helps.

Getting your money back would be next to impossible...

For a Good Idea of how idiots like these operated, watch a Documentary on Showtime (or rent it) called "Maxed Out"

Shows exactly how these people operate and how illeagal some of these operations are in their practices.

Only way to fight them is to do what everyone is doing here until they are shut down...

Here is a Link to a Company I as well as many others here had part in shutting down:
    https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-918-3844/5

PLEASE DO NOT PAY THESE SCAM ARTISTS - THEY CAN DO NOTHING TO YOU BECAUSE OF THE WAY THEY COLLECT THE DEBTS THEY ARE TRYING TO COLLECT - ILLEAGALLY!!!!

I the receptionist at my office. Brandy called and left this number for some guy who used to work here but doesn't any more. She wanted his contact information and I told her I didn't have it. She left a message with me anyway, her first name, this phone number and said it was regarding his NRS application. I googled NRS and it didn't turn up anything which I would consider important or relevant, I think she was just trying to intimidate me into passing on her message. The phone call seemed totally bogus.

Actually it is illegal for a collection agency to threaten you. They cannot take legal action against anyone. The only way that a debt can be collected in by court order is if the original company who you incurred the debt with pursues it. They are also violating the law if they do not identify themselves and if they call you before 8am or after 8pm.

I received a call from Rhonda.  She basically told me that I had to make payment arrangements with her today. I am not able to do the arrangements they want me to do so I told her I would not make arrangements that I know I cannot afford.  She didn't call me any names but she did state that my case would go to their legal department.  I'm willing to pay back my debt but I don't feel comfortable giving out my bank info to someone over the phone.  Does anybody know if they really do send the case to a lawyer or is that just a tactic?  I don't understand why a collection agency would not want to work with people instead of threatening to take them to court.

You are all losers.  someone on here says I don't want to give my information over the phone.  However you also say that these are payday loans and you had to give the information over the internet to get the loans?? LOL  You are stating that they are rude and something about customer service.  These are collectors not CSR's you have the opportunity to stay with the CSR's if you don't f up your original payment with the original creditor.  If collectors and said ok and hung up when you debtors say "i can't pay right now" they would never get anyone to pay.  Then everyone in the world would pay higher and higher interest and even moderate credit would get denied for any loans if the creditor knew there was noone to recover the funds from you people that have to be forced to pay your bills back.  If the agency purchases the debt or the purchaser or even original creditor wants the agency to sue the debt that they are unable to collect and if the intention is to sue you for not paying your bill then the agency can tell you they will sue you and they will.  Instead of looking for a way to get these people to stop calling you, you should call them all right now and make arrangements to pay them.  You will find that in the end you will feel better about yourself and probably won't push your embarrasment off on the collectors that are calling you.  All of you people that are sitting on this blog thing and not working may should get back to work and start to pay your creditors back then you wouldn't be on here looking to get out of your bill.
