- anonymous| 3 repliesSomeone kept calling me and told me to call back to that number. They say something about u being investigated and to avoid further precedings, you must call back. It got me worried. I called but they won't tell me what's it about not until u answer and provide them info. I thought that was odd. Never gave them info. Help! Could anyone tell me who's number or what business this is? Or is this a case of possible identity theft?
- you're being scammed replies to anonymous| 2 repliesDon't worry about it. This is a well known scam. It's likely that they bought your information from a debtor you once had. The debt, if there was one, is no longer valid. THEY HAVE NOTHING ON YOU. There is nothing they can legally do to collect money from you which is why they use illegal tactics of harassing phone calls and threats. Often they will threaten to come to your work and arrest you. DON'T FALL FOR IT. They are trying to intimidate you into paying them money you don't owe. Simply don't answer when they call. Since you've already talked to them they know you use that number so they will call constantly for a while, but if you just keep hanging up on them, eventually they will go away. Hope this helps.
- jennifer| 2 repliesIt was a lady named Patricia who left me message to call back at that number. She said she's calling fromsounded like alimar associates or lamar associates. She said somethin was brought to her desk for final review on an investigation about me. I disregarded it but they kept calling.
- tnx replies to you're being scammedThank you. I just learned that they also left messages for me to some of my family relatives with same last name.
- TD| 1 replyThe people at this number called me looking for my son, acting like they have some kind of a court case against him... They would not give me information on what this was regarding. I have read other peoples comments on this number who believe this to be a scam, and who could not resolve the issue or find out anything about this possible legal company? I would like to know who it is, and if it is actually an attorney's office? This is very disconcerting, and since my son believes himself not to have any legal issues ~ he is not concerned, nor will he call them himself. I am just wondering if he should be or not? Can you find out if this is a legit company, for us? Please let me know, thank you!

- Shill Alert replies to deleted postNo, we're talking about the same crooks that are paying you to lie on the internet for them. Wouldn't go so far as to call it a "company" though. Just a bunch of scamming criminals. Like you.
- StuTheDogObviously a scam. Today I got a call from a local number in my area code that had nothing but dead air. A couple minutes later a call comes from caller id "Private Caller". My guess is the first call was a spoofed call to learn if a live person answered, then the computer called back with a telemarketer. The guy tried to sound official and all, saying he was a "special agent assigned to investigate a case", when I pressed him for information he wouldn't give any, just said I needed to call 888-662-0485 with a case number.
I called the number 888-662-0485, the guy answering said "who do you need to speak with?" Very professional. I told him I was told to call, he took my "case number" then another guy comes on the line and wants my name and the case number again. He has the name of my step-son and wife and says something about my wife is listed as her son's spouse, that there is a lien but he can't discuss it with me. I say Hold On Sparky, if you are saying you have a lien against my wife then that makes me involved. He got very defensive and started spouting phony legalese such as "according to Section 15 Article 12 we cannot speak with you about this" I stopped him and said look, that is just nonsense, you are some clown sitting in a cube wearing headphones and reading from a computer screen, now what is this about? He then said that I was making him angry, I replied that I wasn't really overly concerned about that, what is this about? He started bantering so I hung up.
Later my wife called and they asked the relationship between her and her son then said he (the son) needed to call within 48 hours or they will issue a warrant for his arrest but they would not say what it was about. Her son doesn't even live in our State. We are educated enough to know that such a thing cannot happen so hung up. A collection agency cannot threaten to have you arrested.
My guess is my wife's son filled out some on line questionaire and listed her name and number which is how they got hold of us. Our phone number is unlisted and we are on the DNC list.
For what it is worth, you can purchase toll free numbers, such as 888-662-0485, and have them redirected to another number, so for anyone trying to trace the real number you are calling will probably need to get law enforcement (the REAL law enforcement) to perform the trace through the phone company.
SCAM SCAM SCAM and btw those respondents about who only know how to type IN ALL UPPER CASE are obviously shills for the scam artist. Ignore them or report them to your state's attorney general.- Caller: <garbled>

- PatWe received a call claiming money owed to US Bank for an account that was closed five years ago. We looked up the address for LMR (the claimed company name), 75 Nueovo Road Suite E-336 on Google maps. It is a small shopping center in Perris, Calilfornia and LMR is not listed as a tenant. The information we received came from "Robyn Bailey," who identifies herself as Resolution Manager.
We will contact US Bank to see what is really going on.
I hope this information helps someone.- Caller: LMR

Legal stuff from a lady named Patricia. It sounded like she said "Alamar and Associates" and that I must return the call. It's very important that I return the call. Etc. She even ended the message by saying, "Good Luck, Shannon."
The number she left to return the call at was 888-662-0485. I have so far ignored it. The same day she left a similar message on the voice mail of one of my best friends telling her how important it was that I get a hold of them. That has kind of thrown me off as I've only used this friend as a reference once or twice so it kind of narrows down the list of where they could have got my info from. - Darren WheelerThey need to stop calling me

- MandyGot the same phone call today looking for my aunt, and to call Kevin Anderson at 18886620485
They attempted to call my mom on her cell twice, when she asked who it was, they would not give her an answer, she then told them this is a private number and to stop calling! And they hung up, stupid scammers, haven't they heard of the Internet and the ability to look your number and so called company up?!- Caller: Lamar & associates
- KellyThis 'company' called me and threatened me with legal proceedings and gave me a case number. Exactly what everyone else said. This is obviously a scam. I alerted friends and family not to give them information.

Woman identifying herself as "Donna Summers" left a message on April 30, 2012, stating she was with "Lamar & Associates" and was calling "regarding a case sent back to my office for further investigation...Important for you to make contact with me...Action required to prevent further proceedings...Forward this information to your attorney...". She said to call her immediately at "888-662-0485" and to reference "case # 132716 MIC". My caller ID displayed 'private number', which I do not answer, when she called. During the past 3 months I have received 2 calls a day from a private number. Although this was first "recorded" message, the same "company" has given various storylines to others whom have answered my phone. All previous stories were in regards to a non-resident, family member; "Donna" was calling for me...how flattering!- Caller: Lamar & Associates
- IKNOWSTUFF replies to TDI work in the court system. They have called me 5 times but will not give me any info until I give them my SS#. Fake company. If they say they have a case against you or someone you know, they must tell you the case number and county it is in. It is public record. Don't let them tell you it is confidential.
Until you have been properly served, they have no case. - Nic replies to jenniferAlamar and Associates same call against me coming to work and my home have tried to get a hold of me for no more information. 2 weeks later with the same bull but this time its a fraud agency.
