I've a do not call number

I did not answer.  I also have a do not call number, which seems to be ignored by many.  It was AARP, with a health care message.  Message about calling senators to sponsor health bill to include the availability of generic drugs for medications on which the big drug companies have a lock.  If you agree, number to call is 800-294-7978.

Have registered several times with DO NOT CALL. Still get unusual amount of calls. Mostly from toll free #s but anonymous and unknown telemarketers as well. This # I did not answer.

As with any federal or state government, the lobbyists have diluted this beyond a functional program for their constituents. We can thank the lobbyists for creating a loophole for some...

As you can see this is a significant loophole that is self-serving and leaves a wide path for other calls.

They are just spamming telephones again - wish these folks understand than when you ask not to be called and they continue to call that makes in no way would I ever help their political issue,cause or charity.  They just don't care about other folks by continuing to call daily/weekly so it make you want to support the opposite position. LOL

me too.. I keep getting calls from AARP also.. I do not answer normally...but when I do.. line goes to silence for about 60 seconds then plays a recording which is deleted on the fly.  

Interesting how AARP feels immune from complaints against them.. and thinks they have some sort of right to destroy the quiet enjoyment of my  home by calling.

of course, AARP sees itself as another legitimate beltway organization.. and as such.. like the others.. is ran for the benefit of those that run it.

But as a self-proclaimed senior lobby, they sold out.. why?  they get more money from US Government to study issues of the aged for the Govt than they take in in memberships.  So they readily sell out or face grant monies vanishing. So, they are as any other lobby group... feeding at the public trough.. they "[***] themselves out"  routinely.. it's just good business for them.  Sons of Bushes all.

I am a member of AARP.  I don't answer numbers I don't recognize. When I go to the AARP website, particularly to read the daily bulletins,  I always get a page first advertising a free quote on Auto/Home, etc insurance through the Hartford...which I already have. I have to delete this page (which will not delete until the entire ad page comes up!!)  So, I thank the other people on this list for the info--esp. about the lobbying.

Unwanted. AARP should know better. I'm on the NO CALL LIST. Perhaps you could review its status.

It's AARP pitching their wares or political messages.  If you are a member of AARP, under the Do Not Call rules, they are allowed to contact you unless you request them not to.  If you call the number back, you can say "representative" and have them remove your phone number and do not call.  I did this and so far it has worked.

thie call id from AARP they wanted  me to do some dumb survey.  I called back and asked to be removed from the calling list and the guy said this was the first time he had heard of AARP calling people, then he put me on hold for 5 minutes.

It is AARP.  Automated surgery that asks five questions about Social Security and Medicare.  Using your phone key pad to answer your response.

This number calls 3-4 times daily. Please stop.

This number has called us  for the last 4 days.  No message.  Just an "unknown" number!  Cannot understand why we get so many of these calls as we do not answer, never will answer and will soon drop our land line in self defense from these calls.

All auto insurance companies, including AARP, Geico, Liberty Auto Insurance, and all others, call from my work phone, (408) 882-2761, and it needs to stop. I want to be placed on the DO NOT CALL list.

I like these kinds of calls? What, Why, because I have a Digitone Call Blocker. My phone doesn't even ring, this Blocker hangs up on them first. It also keeps a list of all calls that we blocked, you need to buy one of these too.

It's A1-888 number just call them 5 or 6 times a hour and ask them to stop its fun

I called AARP to tell them they are being spoofed because someone keeps calling me and displaying their toll free number.

I thought to myself, 'AARP would never call me and display as UNAVAILABLE or UNKNOWN NAME because AARP knows that this is exactly the type of behavior that is exhibited by spammers, spoofers, phishers and pharmers. I mean, AARP is a leader in educating seniors about the dangers of exactly that type of identity theft. Furthermore, AARP knows their membership consists of seniors who may have health issues that may cause them to sleep during the day so AARP would NEVER risk waking us up with unsolicited telephone calls that appear to be coming from someone pretending to be AARP."

So I called to warn AARP that someone was spoofing their members by pretending to be AARP and lo and behold, I learned that the robocalls are legitimate. It is AARP's Grassroots America initiative with another 'survey' about social security and medicare because they want to be sure 'our voices are being heard'. Well, my views haven't changed since the last six surveys, I hope SS and Medicare will still be there after paying into it all these years.

I spoke with a sweetheart named Rita who promised to take my number off their calling list. Just call 888-687-2277, press 0 to speak with a representative.

Rec'd call, no message AND  no caller ID at all.  I wouldn't have know that this is
  AARP soliciting political support for an issue unless I click Google to trace this call.
