- E from East CoastJosh Rose Supervisor @ 855-798-7703 URG Offices: Has called several times in automated system for a person we do not know but has our last name. Only asked to have our name removed from list. When I called back I let them know the phone call was being recorded. When they asked if I knew the person I told I would not answer them if I did. How am I to know who they are? They are belligerent and trained to harass. 1 Call looking for someone? OK. I get that. But after that all that should be done is to ask to be removed from their list and they should immediately honor that. Beyond that its harassment. Who are these people specifically?

- Pam replies to don juanYes that's great that you are so perfect but you don't know everyone 's financial problems that maybe a person lost their job or a sickness nobody likes to have unpaid debt but bad things happen to good people to.
- DorleneI have received a call from this company, United Receivable last year and I did owe a debt so I paid it but 4 months later another company called. This other company (RSB Equity Group) said that I owed a debt and again I paid not remembering that I paid the first time. Again 2 or 3 months later another company (ARS/AFS) called and I said wait i already paid this and had the letter to prove it. While looking for the letter I found the other paid memo and informed them that not only do i not owe them but the company was paid twice. Yet again i received another call collecting for the same company and said look you people have received enough money from me, loose my number.

- NathanSo ive been getting calls from URG offices last couple months regarding a payday loan from a few yrs ago. I called my attorney and had him check out URG, and just letting everyone know they're DEFINITELY a scam!! They won't send any validation of debt via mail, their so called "manager" told me he would even give me a fake mailing address so people can't come show up. My attorney advised me to tell them if they contact me, my work, or parents, that i would call the police. Unfortunately, i was dumb enough to give them my SS before checking them out so now i have to change all my accounts. But just letting EVERYONE know do your research, and if its serious i would call an attorney because i almost paid $350 to some scam. Im pissed and hopefully these guys get caught!

- fe replies to rinsownI have this company calling me saying I owe them money in which I already took care of years ago. They say they are going to summon me to court. It's been 2 years since I thought I took care of the matter but now I find out that it was all a scam. The world we live in is so scary.
- SUZETTE PROCTORDo not call me for anything
- Caller: URG
- Derek replies to burns5539Ignore them and block their number from your phone. If you are being sued, a deputy delivers a summons. These people talk about their own process servers and there is no such thing. No-one is arrested even though they try to tell you they can have you arrested.
- Derek replies to J.L GrowanHe is lying. He cannot have you arrested and if he files a lawsuit in an attempt to obtain a judgement, you would first have to be served a summons by a local deputy and then you turn it over to an attorney.
- CWG40You call this number and you get a "special promotion" offer for a life alert system if you are older than 65! Scam inside a scam!
- dontowe| 1 replyI don't owe united recovery group, I paid the original creditor that was owed, but this recovery group is on my credit report and im like everyone else I cant contact every number I call is wrong, how can I get this removed.
- Tamianth replies to dontoweYou are going to need to dispute this with the credit reporting agency's, also file a complaint and dispute with the BBB (and follow completely through with it) and send them a copy of your paid in full receipt from the company you paid off. Send a dispute and cease & desist letter ala USPS certified or return receipt mail. Follow the steps in what you need to know also. If they do not comply, escalate to the CFPB. From the BBB web site:

- Unknown| 1 replyThey called me saying I owe a debit that I have been paying on for over 1 year. They have also left messages on my dad's and 15 year olds cell phone saying I wrote them down as a reference ( which is a lie ) they said they are going to send the paperwork to my job to start garnishment. They told me to fax over the original documents I received from the company I'm paying payments too or they will start garnishment proceedings to my job.. What the Hell
- Caller: URG
- Call type: Debt collector
- CWG40 replies to UnknownThis is a total scam. Only a judge can issue orders of garnishment. And that's only as part of a civil proceedings where all parties are notified by proper service of process and all parties are given the right to make their case. This looks like some sort of debt scammer at work. They are basically trying to scare you into paying them something.
Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a DIME until the debt is validated.
Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.
If they are bothering you,
Report them:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection
Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them .
