PERO COMO YO CANSELE MIS TARJETAS, EL HOSPITAL NO HA PODIDO COLECTAR EL PAGO. Y ESA ES LA RASON DE LA LLAMADA. NO ES NINGUN SCAM. IS NOT A SCAM.

Well, I changed my credit card info because these thieves took out more money than they had permission to do so. Also read the fine print - this is a "membership" not a health plan for your pet - This is a big Rip Off!!!!

I am glad to know who this one is.  I was wondering how long it would take them to wake up.  I had the wellness plan on two of my dogs and when my old guy died last october I called to cancel the wellness plan.  They told me it was a yearly contract and I could not cancel it without paying. I told them....."watch me"   so I have asked my credit card not to honor any of their charges.  Unfortunately, this means I had also lost the wellness play on my other dog as the credit card has to cancel ALL charges from them.
I was basically, happy with the coverage of health care for my dogs but I don't think I need to pay for a dead dog to have a wellness plan. DUH!!!!  This is the first call that I've had from them since I canceled the first
    processed payment.

Hi!  My credit card info recently changed and i've been getting calls from banfield (i refuse to answer) and letters about how i owe them money for my pets wellness plan.  I decided i no longer want to pay it because its [***]. My pets are healthy and $25 a month for a year is just dumb. I'm unhappy that i was suckered into getting it and i dont want to pay it anymore. However, this recent letter said they would be going to a collection agency.  What happened after you stopped paying yours? is there anything they can do to make me pay it? Help!

Well when my dog needed major surgery, it only cost me $100, as opposed to $4000. So I would say, its worth it. They've always treated us, and my dogs great.

This line is only if they cannot charge your card, or your card is expiring soon and they need to update. Furthermore, they have some of the nicest reps over the phone, so I never mind answering if they call.

Turns out it was Banfield and not a scam.  They only call from this number if they have a problem with your billing information. (meaning payment not made for whatever reason)

When I signed up, it wasn't fine print. It clearly said it wasn't insurance, but a Wellness Plan.

The reason I did an internet search on this number is because I've got more than 1 call and no message. Glad they left someone a message.

Same here - I've received a couple of calls but no message, and I don't answer calls from toll free numbers. I did receive a letter from Banfield telling me that they couldn't charge my card - I actually went there tonight and updated the info, so I'm assuming that was what this call was about.

Do you have health insurance for yourself? You have to pay that even if you're not sick and don't use it. I know this isn't health insurance, but it's the same concept. It's actually been very helpful for me because one of my dogs has been sick a few times - kennel cough, allergies, etc., and I don't have to pay for the visit to take him in.

This was Banfield. The credit card (debit card) they had on file didn't have enough available for the monthly dues.

To the people who are bitching about paying for the Wellness Plan:

    1) YOU SIGNED UP FOR IT. Nobody forced you to.

    2) "My pet is healthy, I think 25 dollars a month is too much". Well, considering what you get for that 25.00 a month, it's about the same, if not cheaper than if you bought all of the covered services out of pocket, especially for a new puppy or kitten. Vaccinations, tests, and spay/Neuter for $300.00.. and you think you're getting ripped off? Wake up.

I have 2 dogs, one was a bit older when she was signed up. I pay $86.00 a month for the two. My 12 month agreement will come out to $1032.00. Both dogs needed spayed/neutered. Both needed all of thier vaccines. One needed a dental cleaning.

I priced all of the services they needed, and I was going to cost right at $1050.00 to get it all done (at my vet I used before banfield) So the wellness plan costs about the same, but allows me to spread the cost out over 12 payments... It's basically a free loan. It's easier to cough up $86.00 than $400 here, $160.00 there.

The plan is best for new puppies/kittens, as the first year is always the most costly FOR NORMAL, ROUTINE CARE.

After the 12 months are up, this plan will be cancelled, and they will then be on a more traditional "insurance" plan that coveres illness and accidents.

Just because you didn't do your research doesn't entitle you to be bitter now. Pay your obligations.
