You always have the option to cancel your health insurance. It is probably the worst customer service business practice I've ever heard of not being able to opt out if you so desire. That to me says a whole lot. I can't even count how many businesses offer " Cancel at any time". I do not think their vet services are that great and to be honest , for me the plan is not worth it. It doesn't cover everything. The way they have this designed is robbery. A dead pet should negate all contracts. I think that their lack of empathy in these cases is immoral.

It's not a scam.  It's about your pet's wellness plan.

It is in no way a rip off.  It's a wellness plan for Pets.  I've had my dogs on this plan for 8 years and have saves thousands of dollars by having them enrolled.  Now your facts before you bash.

We did Banfield for the middle of the road plan....and it's a rip off. The office closest to our house suddenly claimed they "were too busy" to book appointments at times convenient for US....and started getting "nic picky' about "what services" we brought our pet in for etc.

Based on the numerous comments that have been posted, I have come to the opinion that people should avoid answering calls from this number. You might also want to take the extra step of blocking the number if at all possible.

It was from Banfield Animal Clinic. My husband died and his dog got sick. Took her there. They told me this plan they had took care of everything but it didn't. Ask them to cancel because it wasn't what they said and that I couldn't afford it. They refused to cancel so now I get calls from them from this number. I changed my ck account because they REFUSED to cancel. They rip you off. Charge you 500 year for preventative care and charge you from 50-150 more each visit.

They called and left no message but looking at the others I guess it was Banfield. I used to use them until they started not seeing my pet when I needed them to. Turned out that they all of a sudden started telling me that emergency calls were not included even though we have been witness to them taking a couple of emergency appointments while waiting to see the vet. After 3 years of being with them I realised that we were being totally over charged and it was a total rip off. We recently cancelled our account with them just over a month ago! Would never recommend them to anyone!

My 16 year old granddaughter offered to take a fostered dog into Banfield, for a routine Vet check-up, before being adopted...and she was signed up for a Wellness Plan!!  It wasn't until she started getting harrassing calls to her cell phone, that we learned about this plan.  We repeatedly told Banfield this was a mistake, she was not old enough to sign for a plan, but they harrassed "her" anyways...sometimes 3 times a day!!  These were NOT the nice reps described in the other reviews...they were extremely nasty.  Then, after we signed for her to have her very first "Teen" Bank Account, she proudly used her new debit card to buy her cat food at Pet Smart.  Two weeks later the harrassing calls stopped and Banfield made a $340 unauthorized withdrawal from her Teen Account.  Upon reporting the fraud to her bank, we learned Banfield had used the information from her debit card to make the illegal withdrawal.  Obviously, Pet Smart had provided Banfield her personal bank card information.  Not only did they use her information to make an unauthorized withdrawal, Banfield also entered her bank card information on their website, signing her up for a Banfield Pet Account, using her name and the name of the foster dog (which we no longer have)!  Unbelievable!!  We made a police report and plan to pursue Banfield's illegal activity!!

Yes - this is Banfield for your Pet's wellness plan.  They just needed the number for my new credit card.  This plan works!  I have a pet with disabilities and have saved thousands with this plan.  If you have a healthy dog, you probably don't need the plan, but who knows?

You called Banfield directly, I hope, at a number on their website or on paperwork you've received from them. You didn't give your credit card number to some random caller, right? Just because they SAID they were from Banfield doesn't mean they are. And phone numbers can be spoofed so even if the caller ID said Banfield I hope you didn't trust it.

My dog died and they were still calling!!!!!  Banfield wellness plan is nothing more than a rip off, they did nothing to help my dog when I took him, had to take him to emergency vet hospital, 45 miles away. During the plan they charged double on all flea medication, saying my dog was getting twice , which he was not , these people will not listen  , they only care about money, they do not earn.

it;s Banfield WELLNESS Plan. My card changed and they couldn't charge for the plans. if you want PET INSURANCE, I would suggest Vet Pet Insurance. They will pay part of what is NOT covered.
