If you are getting a phone call from these people, you probably owe money. Don't ignore it because they have a power to report your debt to the government and it will affect your credit if you don't respond. If you are wondering if its a scam, contact the place you owe money to, for example the University/College if they handed over your account to them.

    They are a BBB approved.

Just because you get a call from this annoying number does not mean you owe any money,  I get calls from this stinkin number everyday, all day long.  When I pick up the phone, they don't even say anything.  I am 62 years old, graduated HS in 1968 & have never ever had a student loan!  My bills are paid up, not behind in a stinkin thing!  How can you let these pricks know they have the wrong person if they won't even respond when you answer the phone????!!!!  They really need to find another way instead of  blowing up peoples phones constantly!  SICKENING!!!

Thanks for letting me know who probably called me. A debt collector. Although I do love the fact that every person on here doesn't owe anyone and they feel that this company is completely bogus. If you really feel that way call the company and ask for it in writting. Pull you credit it'll have your address so it's public info just tell them to send it to you. Unless of course you think they night actually show up and collect what you owe, then I'd probably either ignore it or pay it.

I have been receiving phone calls, and have found that this is legitimate.  2 separate loans were made, one with Sallie Mae and another with ITT Technical Institute.  The loan with ITT was delegated to GRC for collections.  However, most of the people I speak with at GRC have been rude, and tried to dissuade me from further investigating with the school.  Also, a Matthew Reeves I spoke with thought it would be wise to transfer the debt to a credit card.  How silly, that just puts the debt in another hole that can get much deeper at a faster rate than with them.  I am still digging around, but Sallie Mae did confirm that the loan with them is in fact real and not a scam to get money.  I hope this bit of information I've collected is of value.  Peace.

I have selective call rejection and have added 888-710-6818 to the list of incoming phone numbers to be blocked.  On several other occasions I received calls from a landline that my caller ID indicates is located in Cincinnati (I know nobody in that city), so I have to assume GRC is the caller.  I added that number to my selective call rejection list as well.  That seems to have done the trick.  This is the kind of abuse that happens when so much in the way of public information is freely available to parasites like GRC over the Internet: they mine it to harass unsuspecting citizens.

Immediately asked for my birth date.  When I refused unless told why they were calling, they refused to give more information unless I gave my bd.  I owe no student loan or other bad debt, so had to believe it was a scam.  Why does the "Do Not Call" system not work better?

You're a bunch of slugs, I keep receiving calls and letters and I am gonna tell right you are lying because I have not debit and if I did I would not pay a slug organization who purchase the receivable without permission and I will not now or ever pay to a debit collector I would pay the people I owe. So why don't you blood suckers find a real job and leave people alone. Especially now with so many unemployed and all you do is cause these people undo stress and maybe if one commits suicide you will get the message you blood suckers looking for free money

I know how you feel replies to annoyed
Next time they call whistle loud into the phone or put the phone up to a lound radio or tv,  I also found if you just hang up or curse them out they leave you alone.   This is a blood sucker debit purchaser and you did not sign an agreement with them so if they say they want to serve you tell come on with it.  You will not hear from them again for at least 6 months,  then they start again.  Contact the Federal Trade Commission and report the phone number they are call from.  If you can get the name and contact information and send them a letter demanding they stop harrassing you and that you dispute their debit information.  There are forms letters that you can find on the Federal Trade Commission web site

Please read the information on http://www.floridadebtfighters.com/debt-harassment/.  I've personally won several suits against these types of companies who have violated my federal rights.  They need to be held accountable.

Me Too replies to Edwin R. Phillips
I received one from one of their PHISHermen today via cell phone 516-246-6663 (name: Jonathan Edwards.) to my Employer. They claimed that they were going to serve me court papers if I didn't call within the hour and gave me 1-855-866-5846 to speak to a Kim/Kate Halperin (sp). They claimed that a complaint was filed against me for a fraudulent bank account, gave me a "case number." I called and spoke to that absolutely despicable lowlife woman. She claimed that I owed $600.00 for a payday loan.  It was a heated call because I knew it was a ruse. I NEVER applied for a payday loan with GRC. My information was sold to GRC.

I contacted the bank and the representative stated that there was NEVER a deposit of $600.00 by GRC nor anyone else.
I did a reverse search on the White Pages for the first number that showed up on caller ID, and it was a Stony Brook location. Of course these creatures called my employer again a second time with UNKNOWN showing up on the caller ID.

I filed a complaint with the FTC and will also contact the BBB of NY. I also called out the creature using his cell phone to try to scam/phish people out of money. File a complaint with the FTC and put these demons on blast.
