I too receive calls from this number and am on the DNC list BUT DNC does not apply to charities or anyone you have had a previous relationship with.  In my case I have donated to Alzheimer's assoc so their calls are legit.  But if you ask them not to call they will stop.

This number just called again at 3:33 pm, EST.  It shows up on Caller ID as "Unknown Name," and when I answer, whoever is on the other end hangs up without saying a word. I tried calling it back, got a recording identifying the caller as the Alzheimers Assoc. and apologizing for "missing me," and promising (threatening?) to call back in a few days.  This has happened before!  When I answer, no one ever speaks to me.  It is very annoying!  In the past I have responded to mail solicitations for donations to this group.  I think I will start ignoring their mailings like they ignore me when I answer the phone!

I did the same.  Their message said they'd remove my number within 30 days.  We'll see.

Got two calls in the last two days. Nobody was there. Am on Do Not Call list. Does anyone know whether this is really Alzheimer, or is someone faking the Alzheimer number>

There was no response when I answered call.  Figured it was computer-generated call.

I have received may calls and they do not leave a message.  I'm happy that I find out from the above that it is an Alzheimers Organization.  I have contributed annually and they have gotten their last contribution from me.

How annoying can you be.. If they want money, this is no way to go about it...no DONATIONS FROM ME- I reported to DNC but with no success. My phone company gave me the Federal gov't to report to and I did. Now I will wait and see

Thank you, one and all;  we've been getting calls from this number for months  and did not investigate who it was.  Today I decided to google it.  It is pretty much the same story.  When we answer, which is virturally never at this pokint, there's no response.  We either let it ring or click the phone on and off quickly to end the ringing.

So this has been going on for over a year.  Does the Alzheimers Assn. get
a little forgetful and keep calling the same numbers over & over again? Doesn't sound like the "do no call" registry actually works, does it?

Got a call today from this phone number. Their pitch is to send me a bunch of fliers about Alzheimers and I'd have to buy postage for each flier and mail to people in my neighborhood.

This number calls all the time -- I also called back and pressed 1 for more information.  I elected option 2 that stated they would remove my number from the list within 30 days.  We'll see.

Now I know. Thanks. I get these calls twice daily. I give to Alzheimer's Assoc. but no longer. This is the thanks I get? Forget it.

over the past 2 - 3 weeks I keep getting phone calls from the  1-888-771-2059 number. When I'm not home, they don't leave a message. When I'm home and pick up the phone, whoever is calling never says anything. I beginning to find this creepy and really want it to stop, but how? I"m on the DNC list.

These calls are so annoying and they just don't get it that I never answer that particular phone as all incoming calls go to an answring service.  I don't think a lot of people realize that these characters, along with other "charity" organizations, are exempt from the rules of the DNC list.  It shouldn't be that way as they are the worst culprits.  We need legislation making all unsolicited calls abide by that DNC list or be prosecuted.  These calls are an invasion of our rights to privacy.

This number has called my home twice a day for about two weeks.  Except for once, there was no one there.  The one time someone was there, I told them very politely I was not in a postion to help and thn I said have a good afternoon and I hung up!
