- ElissaIt is a legit number, but it would be helpful if they left a message. After two calls from this number and no voice messages, I looked it up online and found this forum... And I remembered that I had lost my debit card, cancelled it, and got a new one last week. So I called my gym directly and updated my information. My card had been declined because I cancelled it and there was a late fee on my account, which they waived without my even asking. Way easier to just call the gym than try to go through whatever financial service is making the call.
- ScottSame recorded message as above about my billing information needing to be updated. It seems legit, as I know I just changed credit cards, and the one bill I have not updated the auto-pay with is my gym. I belong to Sweat Fitness in Philadelphia, though I'm sure they probably do this for other gyms as well.
I always update it in person, and refuse to do it over the phone.- Caller: ABC FInancial
- Jacob ParkhurstThis number calls me constantly like it's a freaking family member in trouble multiple times a day. I realize now that it's related to my gym membership but still, this is harrassment and one of these days I'm going to answer it and rain a [***]-storm upon them.
- JMEI got a diagnosis of metastatic colon cancer almost a year ago. I didn't have the energy to go to the gym during chemotherapy, but did not like the idea of giving up. So I kept paying the monthly bill. Finally my oncologist suggested it would not be a good idea to mix so closely wtih people with my immune system so low. By chance, my bank changed by debit card number (they had been hacked) and World Gym stopped getting their automatic payment. In responce to their payment demand by mail, I forwarded them a letter from my oncologist. This was not good enough. I am now engaged in a battle with them. I'll check back in later to update you all....

- Yortimus PrimeGot a call that they couldn't process my payment for my health club and I needed to update my information. I'd lost my debit card and forgotten my health club was getting paid automatically, and neglected to switch the info when I got my new card..... Legit.

- JulieI got a call that my credit card was expiring soon. I looked at all the responses here and decided to call my gym directly to check; yes, they do work with ABC and yes, my card was expiring this month so they were legitimately calling to update my info. However my gym was happy to update my card info themselves, and given the posts here I was much more comfortable with that.

- The ForkI've gotten a couple of voicemails from Automated Eric about my gym membership billing information needing to updated. While I do have a gym membership, it's handled through my employer and they have nothing to do with ABC Financial. Scam.

- TinaTell them to not call you again and that you are documenting this request to remove you from their call list. If they do not comply, you will turn them over to your attorney and every time they call you in the future will be a fine of $1000 for harassment. Make sure to get their full name and time and date of the calls.
This information came from my attorney when bill collectors were calling my home after my mother had passed away. They were trying to "settle her bills with me to avoid collection". Seriously?!?! Who are they going to collect from? Some people are just so ridiculous. After I told the collectors this, they never called again.- Caller: ABC

- TNovember 5th 2012....they are at it again .. Just got a call from that number and I have never had a gym membership.
- DebI've had regular calls from good old "Eric" for a month now, despite (1) I'm on the "do not call" lists (both national & for my state), and (2) I've never had a gym membership (I work out at home). I blew it all off for awhile, but finally got tired of it and reported the calls to the FCC. If enough people do the same, maybe these low-life's will get shut down...........at least temporarily.
All you have to do is go to the FCC's website & fill out their online form 1088. The URL is (yes, this is legit):
