- JanThese are scammers calling about Windows virus trying to get access to your computer. Hang up and do not speak with them. After numerous attempts to block these scammers, they manage to get past blocks with fake numbers. This number if you call back says the number is a cancer association located in Nevada. The garbage never ends.
- Caller: Microsoft
- BadgerUnsolicited call at about 10 AM. They insisted they detected an issue with my computer. We got into an argument about whether this was a legitimate organization or not. Indian voice/accent. Eventually I got bored and hung up.
I called the number back. I got a recorded message claiming to be the Comprehensive Cancer Center of Nevada (a real organization, but clearly not with this phone number), but it's recorded in broken English - also by someone with an Indian voice/accent, and pressing buttons to navigate the menus leads in an endless circle. It also does *not* tell you to call 911 for a life threatening emergency - it just says something like, "if you've already called 911, press 1."
Obvious scammers.- Caller: Scammer

- Very Annoyed| 2 repliesA woman with an Indian accent called me at 9:58pm tonight saying she is from Windows Tech Support, I stopped her right there and asked her "WHY ARE YOU CALLING ME AT ALMOST 10:00pm", she replied with, "this is an urgent matter concerning your Windows operating system", I explained I do NOT have Windows as my operating system and she called me a liar and then asked to speak to my husband, when I told her there is no husband she again called me a liar and then hung up.

Never let people who call you gain remote access to your PC. They will steal all your private information, give you malware, over charge you and generally ruin your day (or several). They are criminals. Do not answer unknown callers and do not call them back. - Jo Annusually when I ask for their number to call back to verify...they hang up...this woman just kept talking and talking...I finally hung up on her...she said she was from London. called at 10 pm. I ignored the number for the last two weeks and finally answered figuring that when they knew I was on to them they would stop calling.
- LyndaThis number calls between 10pm and 11pm at night. Not my practice to answer unknown callers so eventually they hang up.
- JimboYes, definitely a scam... Check your firewalls and security programs. Wondering if somehow their cross-referencing street addresses associated with home phone numbers to get your PC's IP address???
