This number called my wife when Im the main bank account holder, left no message. it came up as Chase on the caller ID. Called Chase directly and the Agent said this is not a number than use anymore. Not with Credit Debit or Savings Fraud the number is not in use from Chase and it is scam or robocall

Just got a call from this number. It was a robocall — I picked up, heard silence, then the "blip" noise, and then you could hear the massive noisy room the caller was in. The person who spoke to me claimed to be from "Consumer Services," which I asked her to repeat, though she never said consumer services of what, just used it like it was a proper name. She claimed that they could lower my credit card interest rate on ALL of my credit cards. Sounded scammy AF so I disconnected.

How could it be a robocall if a live person was on the line?

I got this call today. I do not have a chase card. Research online shows that Chase has reported scams using this number. I did not answer it and they did not leave a message.

Received a call from 888-844-7979 and it came up as a verified number and said JPMorgan Chase.  I do not have any Chase accounts so I didn't answer the phone.  I thought they would leave a msg but they didn't.

called my mobile, didnt leave vmail.  lots of chatter here on 800 notes, as well as googling as this may appear to be chase/fraud (I do have a product with them, but my online profile is pretty secure, will double check if I have any "alerts)

Received this call while I was at work. My phone sends numbers it doesn’t recognize straight to voicemail, so I checked it while on my break, as the caller id said JP Morgan Chase. I don’t even have Chase Bank

My caller ID said JP Morgan Chase. I didn't answer the phone and no message was left. I came here to check the validity. It is obviously a spoof number due to the comments I see. I am glad I didn't answer.

They may have taken some steps to prevent the fraudulent use of the number.  Although call back gets a greeting identifying itself as JPMorgan Chase, it advises you to call the number on your card for questions about your account.  Also gives option to opt out of telemarketing calls.

Unfortunately, those actions by JPMorgan Chase are only good if the person receiving the call calls the number back.  JPMorgan Chase cannot do anything to help the people who answer the spoofed call and talk to the scammers.  For now people receiving calls from this number (and any other) should do what the FTC suggests - "DON’T TRUST CALLER ID"

I remember those days also, it was very useful back then.
Today it is pretty much useless, and even the phone companies are not helping.
Looking back at my incoming call logs since this time last month, I had 40 calls (wanted and unwanted) and 27 of them (67.5%) were assigned the generic name "SPAM RISK" by my service provider.  A few of those calls were from people I know and wanted to talk to, but their service provider is not my service provider so they were labeled as potential spam.  (Fortunately, I have learned to ignore that label and the conversations were nice.)

I got a phone call from this number at 11:55 AM Eastern Time, but I didn't answer the phone and my phone flagged it as “JP MORGAN CHASE.” It never left me, but the YouMail app on my phone flagged it as “Call Alert” claiming to be associated with Chase Bank when I never setup an account with them nor applied for a credit card. It was a robocall and a scammer misusing a toll-free phone number so that he/she can try to scam me. I reported robocalls and scammers that spoofed random US and local 865 phone numbers that never left me any messages pretending to be real businesses to the Federal Trade Commission before and my phone number is on the Tennessee and National Do Not Call Registries. I did not give them permission to call me nor have I done business with them.

Received call from this number,  CID shown as “”Unknown.”   VM caught female voice saying “hello” twice then disconnected.  Apparently some here found this to be a legitimate caller.  In this case, the call came in on my cellphone, which I NEVER use for any legitimate business.  Also, any legitimate call would have left a message.  I say SCAM!

SCAMMERS! Janet from India called and was advised that a team of agents will be visiting her location. Chase Bank does not call anyone especially after 07:00 pm.
Ask JPMorgan/Chase Bank why they don't protect their account holders by alerting the phone companies to block all calls from 888-844-7979.
