Of course they called on Sunday knowing that I can’t confirm with my CU. Showed up on my phone as possible spam so I let it go to VM and started snooping the internet and found this site. With the remarks being about 50/50 I’ll just call my CU tomorrow morning. Trust no one.

You looked the phone number up because you were not sure of who called.  The people who are saying it is "legit" already allegedly knew the answer and then looked up the phone number.  What possible reason would there have been for that?  Lying shills come here everyday to try to do damage control.

Shill alert! Come on, there is no logical reason for you to look up a known phone number so clearly you came to shill, right?

I received a voicemail from this number. They said there was suspicious activity and my visa debit card and was flagged and would be blocked if I didn't call back right away. They gave me a 4 digit "reference number".  My bank has never done this before from an outside source. I called my bank directly and they verified that there were no flags on my account to be blocked. My bank said this call WAS SPAM!!!

I received a call from this number this past Sunday after I tried making a purchase on my Steam account with my credit card. The purchase was denied, and I had no idea as to why because I had used this card on Steam no problem in the past, and I tried a couple more times with no luck. I gave up, as it was a Sunday and I couldn't contact my credit union until the next day. A couple hours later, though, I got a call from this 888 number saying it was my credit union, asking me if I attempted the exact purchase I tried making earlier. I was told the amount, that it was on Steam, and what time it was attempted. I told her yes, that it was me. That is all the information that I was asked for, and that is all the information I gave them. By law she then had to ask me if I was forced to make the purchase against my will, and I told her no. Finally, she told me I should now be okay to make the purchase. I got back on my computer and it worked no problem. I came here to see other people's experiences, as I couldn't find this number on my credit union's website after the situation and I got a bit nervous. I do believe, though, that this number is a legit credit card fraud check after my experience. If anyone ever calls you and asks you anything more than a yes or no question, be hesitant. I was not asked for any specific information during this phone call.
