Got a new mobile no-contract phone with a new number about 3 weeks ago, and these guys have been calling relentlessly for the past 2 weeks. The computerized calling system either does not say a name or says someone else's name, not mine. I was going to respond and tell them they have the wrong number, but from the posts here, it sounds like that doesn't work.

Has anyone had success in getting these vultures to stop calling?

This is AIS, but on your credit report it could be listed as National Credit Adjusters. Phone 1-888-920-1300. If these are not valid charges, file a police report and send a copy to AIS at 50 California Street, Suite 500, San Fran, California 94111. Fraud must be removed.

This number has been calling me every day with no one on the other end. If I don't answer, they do not leave a message on my answering machine.

They keep calling my number and leave a message on my phone.
Hello this is AIS Services calling for....and their automated message cuts off before they can leave the name of the person they are calling for. I do not owe any debts and will not be calling them back.

I have a problem sending anyone money when they can not show proof of documentation. My advice, get the original paperwork and then pay the original creditor immediately.

    Not A Valid Call
I have received repeated calls from this number, too many to count.  Each time they state the name of the person for whom they are leaving the message.  The person they name does not live at my address.  They say it is vital that I return their call and that it is not a sales call.  I will not return the call.

Only received a recorded phone number (this one) - don't have any idea what it could be; I have no debt nor do I expect to incur any.

    Will not be threatened again
I have received 3 calls from this number in the last 2 hours, no messages are ever left.  After reading this information, I will not answer the phone when they call again.  This exact thing happened to me 2 years ago by another company also out of San Francisco.  They threatened to have me arrested on internet fraud charges and informed me that I better get an attorney.  When I told them I had an attorney and provided them with his name and number, they never called back again nor did they ever call my attorney.

Get a smart phone and a call blocking app. Don't answer a number you don't recognize. Then google the number to find out if as&wipes like these guys. Once confirmed add number to block. Next time they call they just get a click. The self satisfaction when you get a notice that they were blocked is worth the price of the phone.

This number has been calling us for a couple of days.  First of all the guy that keeps calling can barely speak English and then totally screws up our name. I refuse to answer phone calls like this or ever return the call.

Peter Bennett, aka scum faced, bottom feeder. Association AIS, 'Old Debt Collector'. Do not pay anything to these people. This company purchases old 'charged off debt accounts - pennies on the dollar" and then goes after the original amount. Remember all credit cards are unsecured, if you do not have any money to make a settlement (5 - 25% of original amount, which is more than sufficient). They will threaten you with all sorts of scenarios, stonewall them, do not make an agreement without talking it over with someone knowledgeable. Garnishment can be ordered by the courts; however most states have some level of maximum usually 25% or less for the total amount of all unpaid debts. If you are continually harassed, consider bankruptcy (they will probably only receive 1 - 3% of the original debt). Always request a copy of the original paperwork showing when the debt was incurred and the original amount. Hope this information helps. You can check out this company through your state's Corporation Commission or (California - Sacramento)

These people left a message on my work phone - I'm out on maternity leave.  When I returned the call I was told I had a judgement against me for a $17000 debt and they were going to garner my wages.  I asked if this was a scam - he told me no.  I became loud and angry - how is it that I was sued, lost, and wasn't informed?  On top of that, I've bought 2 houses and refinanced just a month ago, since this supposed debt.  He ended up hanging up on me twice.  I called and asked to speak to someone with answers.  She asked if my name was blah blah - I said no.  She asked if my social security number was (proceeded to give me a 7 digit number) - I said no.  She asked if my birthday was blah blah - I said no.  She said they had the wrong person.  I yelled at her and she had the nerve to tell me to rejoice instead.

Allgirl, it is simple to collect this imformation. Nothing a few dollars can't buy. The bottom line is that you know you do not owe this so-called debt and they can not not force you to pay something you do not owe. Just send the stop and cease letter as shown above and that will be that. Good luck.
